Working and Kids and Marriage Wednesdays: Pinterest
I never wanted to understand Pinterest. Nor, did I want to like what I did not understand. Then, one day, a slew of friends asked me to join. I ignored all requests. Then my friend asked me to help plan her wedding. I had bookmarked all sorts of ideas. They were a mess--scattered and I never looked at them again because of this. I kept thinking to myself that a platform needs to be created where ideas can be organized visually, with links behind them. Not just the links with ambiguous titles that in due time mean nothing. I searched and searched and I found Pinterest. Shoot. I started creating a board titled, "Weddings for Friends." Then the boards expanded. And expanded. When I put my two non-sleep-loving children down for a nap (that could take hours for my wishes of them sleeping to be fulfilled), I go on Pinterest. Pinterest is funny. It's what you wish to be and then you have to look at yourself and see what you really are. There's quite a discrepancy, at least with my life. And actually, I really do use the recipe board I created and all of the fitness boards. I bring my phone with me to do a work out and use the Tabata moves, et al. The cleaning, organizing, trying to be a good mum parts? Not so much yet. But they give me a vision of something I could be if I had more time and wasn't on Pinterest all of the time. If you'd like to waste your time with me (a wasted time well spent), come see me at jennalimanyc on Pinterest.
