I’ve been following #letstalktools with @cfpr_research and wanted to contribute by proposing three tools that have significance for my workshop-based art practice and in reference to my current interest in David Pye’s seminal publication ‘The Nature and Art of Workmanship’ . The hand-carving tool has been a staple tool in my printmaking toolbox for over fifteen years and represents the ‘Workmanship of Risk’. With direct access to a CNC router @fellesverkstedet I have recently acquired a two-bladed carving tool which represents the ‘Workmanship of Certainty’.
