Jk goes live in Korea, with Tae joining him halfway through! I want to note at the start Jk was sleepy and yawning through the live, but visibly perks up, becoming playful and more alert, when Tae eventually joins. Before Tae joins, Jk shares that he exercised with “Taehyungie hyung” today (8/29/25), they were going to share a meal of samgyeopsal together, but because of his scheduled fitting, they didn’t.

Jk visibly brightens, eyes lighting up, when he sees Tae comment, saying, “Taehyungie Hyung came.” I really encourage a rewatch of this part because, to me, his eyes clearly widen when he sees Tae has commented, then he leans towards the screen to better read him.  In my opinion, Tae’s comments are incredibly domestic. His comments also indicate they were talking off live for Tae to know Jk hadn’t done his cardio or washed up (as Jk must have intended to do when they spoke offline beforehand).

Taekook proceed to have a conversation over Weverse chat, with Jin interspersing in as well. Jk speaks casually to Tae, saying he’ll invite him into the live, before realizing he was speaking casually and quickly adding “hyung” to the end. This also happened in “Are You Sure” when Tae video called. It’s little things like this that I find really telling. I also want to archive that Jungkook calls him “Taehyungie Hyung” again around 40:25 before he joins the live because it’s always too cute to me. Jungkook’s face lights up when Tae joins. From here on, there’s casual conversations, incredibly warm glances, domestic banter, and happy, bright faces.

K ARMY noted JK’s tone of voice when speaking with Tae at the start of the dual part of the live, especially when they talk about Tae being tired. I shared a link of a K army gushing below. The “”I’m tired” “”you’ll sleep” conversation segment, in particular, is very domestic in pitch, with Jk’s voice noticeably softer and deeper. It came off very caring and doting to me. Even without knowing the nuances of Korean, JK’s soft tone and speech inflection, along with their domestic banter, radiate through the screen. Jk had shared previously that he needs to wash up, and reiterates that again when Tae mentions he’s washed up. Jk suggests he go and wash up while Tae continues the live but Tae says he’s tired, then knowingly teases that Jk would just not come back on live.

Again, there’s a lot of domestic “married couple” banter between the two, and it’d be impossible to screenshot it all so I encourage watching this live (which I imagine will be done even without my nudge!). The two chat about their respective meals, with Jk reiterating again his weight loss goal and needing to do cardio. Tae agrees (about needing to do cardio), proposing a cardio date tomorrow.

Right after this, Tae says he cut his hair again because it was poking his eye. Jk teases this is a simple reason, then shares he’s growing his hair out (side note - I love any hairstyle on these two but I really do think Jk feels himself when he sports long hair and I’m so excited to see it possibly comeback at some point). Tae follows up on this comment, saying ARMY like short hair. He then muses if they’d like buzzed hair, a reference to the mandatory military enlistment all South Korean men face. This makes them chuckle before Jk quickly and firmly says twice, in a more pouty, more whiney tone, “you’re not going again.” I can only imagine how hard this period of time was for them, and I think JK’s tone speaks volumes to that. His reaction is telling, especially reiterating his words twice, and it’s indicative he wasn’t thrilled with the short hair suggestion, at least at this time (in my opinion, because it’s still too soon from their time apart during their mandatory military enlistment, and the short hair cut would remind him of that right now).

Tae shares that he’s running with Jk, then immediately praises Jk’s athleticism. Jk tries to brush it off, but Tae won’t let him, determined to praise his abilities. I actually found this part, in particular, quite telling. We know how difficult SDT is and Tae completed his time in this division in an exemplary manner, coming in first place in certain skills against other SDT members. We also know Jk is naturally gifted in a variety of skills, one being athletics. Still, even knowing these things, Tae makes sure to hype and praise Jk’s very impressive, naturally athletic abilities. This is one of many ways Tae makes sure to shine the spotlight on his person’s talents, and I found that really sweet. In my opinion, Jk did too, going off his reaction and the subsequent conversation.

For more context: Tae asks if Jk’s stomach hurt while they ran (hinting his did). Tae then admits he pushed so hard that saliva filled his mouth, which sends them both into laughter. It’s truly such a domestic exchange, and K-army gushed over how natural their tone was during this exchange. Jk assures Tae he’ll run at “hyung’s” pace from now on, before speculating the struggle was because they ate beforehand instead of running on an empty stomach. In other words, not only are they workout partners, they’re sharing meals too. We only see a fraction of their real lives, but moments like this matter, because even though we KNOW they’re working out and sharing meals together, especially when some still insist, even in 2025, that they’re not close, this should be archived.

Jk also speculates their struggle with running could be due to the time they ran. Yesterday, they ran at 8-9pm, after dinner. Jk then shares that they’ve been running at Han River 3x a week around this time, then jokes ARMY may try to collect them like Pokémon, which prompts Tae to start suggesting rules if fans do see them together out running. Jk immediately goes along with it and throws in his own suggestions. I have to archive their laughter at their rule that ARMY can’t surpass then in running, or risk hurting their pride, as it’s too cute.

As they share rules, one being to only hint you’re ARMY, Jk suggests a silent finger gesture for that rule, which Tae quickly picks up and goes along with. Tae makes his own gesture to follow up Jk’s, which causes Jk to gesture back. I love that they always quickly pick up on the other’s playful energy and match it so readily. It really shows how in tune they are with each other. Both start laughing, noses crinkling, as they act out a skit of running at the river with ARMY spotting them.

Also, as a side note and what could be called speculation on my end, a friend brought up a great point worth sharing. “Tae said they’re running 3-4 times a week at the Han River now. And there’s NO way that’s in the middle of the day, so it’s either in middle of the night or before dawn. No way two people from different houses, far apart, are meeting up that often at those hours. They definitely live together.” I agree with this but of course, decide as you like. I also believe this is their way of normalizing them being out and about in their off time, in public, together. I hope people will give them the space and privacy everyone deserves when out in public, especially considering they had to leave Bangul and Kkomak early due to people disturbing their space.

Taekook then transition into discussing their weight, with I have to disclose in my country we use pounds, and I hate math, so I had AI help convert kilograms for me, which I added in parentheses. Tae sharing he needs to lose 3KG (6.5 lbs weight loss) and Jk that sharing he’s at 75KG (165 lbs) wanting to get to 69KG-68KG (150-152 lbs, 13-15 lbs weight loss). Jk mentions when he was recording and filming the movie for his smash solo hit “Seven,” he weighed 65 KG (143 lbs), losing 1 KG a day at that time, 70-65 KG in 5 days (154 lbs to 143 lbs, 11 lbs). Tae mentions during the filming of his smash solo hits “FRI(END)S” and “Winter Ahead” that he was 61KG (134.5 lbs). Jk exclaims surprise, “really?” then says Tae was really thin then, and, with a smile, compliments Tae, saying he came out of their mandatory military service looking great. He loves to compliment Tae, and that’s really sweet to see.

Jk then proposes they watch Tae’s solo “Winter Ahead.” As he pulls up the MV on YouTube, he asks if they should watch Tae throw out the honorary first pitch at the LA Dodgers game on August 25, 2025. Bringing up this special moment is another instance of Jk being supportive and proud of Tae’s achievements, bringing it up to remind him and hype his person up. A personal gushing from me -> they really are wonderfully matched couple, so supportive of one another. 

Also something else that’s important to note here, it appears their televisions are synched up so that they can watch the same thing at the same time.

 Jk starts humming “Winter Ahead” as he adjusts settings on YouTube, at 52:39. He then compliments Tae at around 52:45, calling him “handsome.” Both proceed to watch the MV, with Jk briefly staring at the screen and squinting, reminiscent of his squint in Tae’s IG post when he was on his lap on the plane.

Jk confirms with Tae he was 61KG ((134.5 lbs) at that time. He then says, “Wow!” Hes in disbelief that this is 61KG. Tae asks if he looked different at that time. Jk confirms he did. Tae then says he was 61 KG but gained muscle mass on his frame, which Jk knows is how it goes (muscle weighs more than fat). Jk says in the MV Tae exuded a more boyish vibe, whereas now he exudes more of a manly vibe (after becoming buff). Tae flexes as Jk compliments him.

Tae complains he hasn’t packed yet (which, to me, sounds like he’s hinting for someone else (cough Jk) to do it). He says he’s going to go eat, which prompts Jk to tease, “aren’t you going to show yourself eating?” while laughing. Even when Tae hangs up his part of the life, Jk is still laughing, then says twice this is fun, before saying it’s now suddenly quiet.

At 58:06, Jk announces, “Taehyungie Hyung is back!” Tae joins around 58:23, and Jk, smiling, teases him, asking why he’s back. Tae flashes a quick look at his food, and says, “Mukbang,” making them both burst into laughter.

Mukbang (먹방) is a South Korean term that combines “muk-ja” (먹자, “let’s eat”) and “bang-song” (방송, “broadcast”). It refers to a type of livestream or video where a host eats large amounts of food while interacting with viewers. It became popular in South Korea around 2010 and has since spread worldwide through platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch.

Jk comments that Tae’s food looks delicious. Tae reveals it’s chicken breast, pork, shrimp and eggs. He complains they always add a hot pepper to the dish, even when he can’t handle spicy food and tells them not to include it. As he complains, you can see Jk is so endeared by him.

Jk laments that he’s doing cardio, and the way he says it, though the nuance is lost on me, perhaps an inside joke or something specific to Korean, makes him chuckle and Tae laugh. Jk puts lip balm on, then says, “Oh,” suddenly triggering Tae’s attention. Jk then asks if it seems like he should dance. Tae reveals he’s only wearing underwear, causing Tae to smile in amusement and Jk to chuckle and smile as he says that’s incredible.

It’s so sweet that Jk had concerns about being able to hear Tae as he ran on the treadmill, so he wore AirPods and a beanie to better hear him. It’s incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Also, when Tae signed off, saying, “Hyung is going to brush his teeth,” I feel like he was directing that to Jk more than viewers. I also want to reiterate again how incredibly domestic, cozy, natural, warm, all the things the live was overall, but especially the end when Jk was doing cardio and Tae was eating. They’re comfortable in the silence and don’t feel the need to fill it or entertain within the space, and that’s quite loud on its own.
