WORK TO LIVE TOUR: 004 | 111717 Amsterdam, Stadionbuurt: We didn’t have much of a plan before or during our time here, for good reason. The city itself is small, but dense in culture. Our daily routine consisted of a pit-stop at our local Albert Heijn in the southeast of Amsterdam for Spa water before starting our day. After a quick visit to Stadionbuurt in the south, we made our way to the neighborhood of De Pijp. Bicycles flood the narrow sidewalks and streets that are home to a mix of Halal butchers and Surinamese delicatessens. The air filled with freshly pressed stroopwafel, cinnamon, and brown sugar as we walked through the iconic Albert Cuypmarket. To us, Amsterdam is a place where you can decompress. Let the city take you and wander through the canals. It feels like just yesterday we were gathering our loose euros together at FEBO for our favorite Dutch snack, Kaassouffle, a walk-up self-serve staple.

WORK TO LIVE TOUR: 003 | 111117 Barcelona, Wer-Haus: A long hallway leads into the industrial interior. Stairs introduce an elevated area lined with design publications and a curated selection of garments. As a former garage converted into a multi-purpose space with foliage mixed in among an open-air restaurant and cafe, all these sections come together to form Wer-Haus. We had the pleasure of meeting Nicolas and he graciously invited us to Wer-Haus’ 2 year anniversary function, which brought a collective of like-minded people together to celebrate and enjoy sounds provided by Hotel Radio Paris. We enjoyed it so much that we wanted to take a small piece of that night and show you one of the only photos we managed to snap that night.

WORK TO LIVE TOUR: 002 | 110717 Sintra, Palácio da Pena: You don’t realize how small the main town of Sintra is until you’re looking at it from the top of a national monument. The past few days we’d been moving pretty quickly so a change of pace was needed. When you’re hiking to and through both the Pena Palace and the Castle of the Moors in one day, there’s a lot of time for self-reflection. On top of a limestone castle rampart, or leaning out of an arch in a clocktower courtyard, everything slows down and you get to look out at it all in appreciation.
