I lived across the street from the World Trade Centers in BPC for 20 years. I was there on 911 running away from the falling towers covered in dust. Remembering this day is a very sad one for me. That day took me by the feet and turned me upside down and shook everything out of me. I am still feeling the pain to this day because of it. What does not kill you makes you stronger they say.. I hope that everyone out there that was affected by this horrible day is having a much better day and staying strong. Thank you LIFE !!! I appreciate every challenge and breathe I take. I LOVE life. I took this picture from the top of the Empire State Building while in New York this past December. NYC has an energy that is hard to articulate, it's like an electric charge that's always buzzing around you. I loved it. I wanted to post this picture in memory of 9/11 and as a tribute to the strong people of that city and for all of us who mourned with them. Our nation changed that day...both good and bad changes...but, it did not destroy us, it did not defeat us. Even though it's been 13 years I remember everywhere we went while there, if the subject of that day came up it was very clear, by the quiver and resolve in their voices and the glassy distant stare in their eyes, New Yorkers have not forgotten 9/11 and the people lost...but it is also evident that they continue on in honor of them as well. So must we all. I'm not exactly sure why, but this picture makes me feel hope and strength when I look at it.. like the horizon is endless and bright and all we have to do is embrace it. That's the American spirit to me. Never forget but keep moving forward...
