Good morning! I’m excited to be doing the take over this weekend. I’m wondering what I was thinking to have signed myself up for one of the busiest weekends of the year for me. Next week is our last week of school, and we are preparing for a small graduation event and a virtual end-of-the-year show, so I might have to spend some of this beautiful day editing. But for now I’m sitting in my wild and woolly Arcadian backyard overlooking Herring Run Park enjoying no mosquitoes or humidity. Maybe I can take installing my window units off my to-do list. (#worstjobever after putting in screens) Guillermo (Puerto Rican rescue wonder boy, and one of three of my doggos) is protecting the bird feeder from squirrels and checking out the groundhog hole under the fence. I’m letting things get overgrown because I’ll be putting in a retaining wall in a month to even out the slope down to the alley. It’s such a beautiful day but my heart is heavy thinking of George Floyd. A high school Facebook friend who has pictures of himself shooting military-style guns on his page, and who is the kind of NC good ole boy who likes to say that he “doesn’t see color” and why can’t people shut up already always making everything about race responded supportively to a post I made last night about the protests. I had to ask him to clarify, b/c usually he trolls my posts. Nope—he was not being negative about the protests. He said, “Sometimes enough is enough. “ I told him I loved him. But seriously, it gave me a glimmer of hope. If HE could see it... sigh. But anyway to the day, and the distribution of grad yard signs and so forth and so on. I included the dishes, an image I am usually greeted with in the morning, to show off my teens’ dish stacking abilities. They aren’t so much inspired to put dishes away but enjoy finding balance. 🙄. . . . #northeastbaltimore #lifeissweetinthenortheast #visitbaltimore #baltimoremaryland #baltimoremd #thisisbaltimore #baltimorelove #iheartbaltimore #baltimoregram #bestofbaltimore #mybmore #wearebaltimore (at Arcadia-Beverly Hills Historic District) https://www.instagram.com/p/CA0N_9HpXxS/?igshid=1qf9yj16bzneo
