How I feel about this character

i love him :’) i think that his character introduction is easily the strongest of any companion in hartnell’s era and i think that peter purves put so much character into playing him that he’s just !!! wonderful to watch. it’s literally a tragedy that we don’t have all his stories anymore.

idk he didn’t really get developed that way but maybe him and sara... maybe him and oliver...

My unpopular opinion about this character

i’m like the only person who ever spares a thought about mr taylor :( idk what’s unpopular but here’s an opinion anyway and it’s that i think he has a good voice and is a very nice singer :’)

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

i know this wasn’t gonna happen but i really would have liked them to like address how two whole years of basically solitary confinement affected him and how he processed/healed from the trauma of that idk like. peter played his intro scene with that in mind so well but then they just sorta dropped it :(

How I feel about this character

everybody knows i love jo grant... she’s just so wonderful and is so generous with her happiness but at the same time she doesn’t take any bs... she’s so so so good and i firmly believe that 1. she’s the person that made the doctor love earth as much as they do in new who and 2. she’s the reason he was able to heal from what he went through in the war games

if she and liz weren’t both sort of written off hastily/badly and could’ve been there at the same time i think they would’ve been cute together 🥺

My unpopular opinion about this character

she’s obviously a victim of sexist screenwriting which is unfortunate BUT i don’t think it devalued her character at all. like all the people i see who don’t like jo use this argument but like. it’s not like she’s helpless or useless she’s just not book-smart.. and she’s smart in so many other ways... 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

i just wish she hadn’t been given the “falls in love and gets married off” ending... like please....
