Knife Through Hearts
I slit a heart with a knife, Slit it deep, through pain and crimes. Till the blade's tip could clearly see, The world beyond, through his Injury..
He held the handle, frozen in pain, Paralyzed as blood did stain. I hugged him tight, from his back, To stop the flow, to feel his crack…
But as I pressed, harder still, The knife turned sharp, against my will. I felt its tip within my chest, Tearing muscles, denying rest.
He hurt more, while I hurt less, Two broken hearts in the deepest mess, He let me pull the blade away, Through tears, through screams, We chose to stay,
We stitched each heart, thread by thread, But my hand shook with a trembling Bloodshed, He stitched his own, then turned to mine, Selfless, calm, a love divine.
Now wounds have healed, though scars remain, The wound is triggered by love and pain. His hurts still ache; I feel them too, The suffering will end with a life that is true,
But time will pass, and the pain will fade, In his arms, my heart is laid. I hug him close, from the back I stay, Together, we'll find a brighter day.
