Hi! I just want to say as a HK fan and Dungeon Master, your homebrew stuff is so coooool. I also wanted to ask if you had any ideas on what Root Vessels may look like, as I've been thinking about making a Vessel OC and using that as inspiration (with credit to you for the idea of course).

Root Vessels tend to take after the White Lady! This means their horns are usually very curly and branched, sometimes looking more like antlers. They tend to have fewer eyes than Void vessels (which have up to 8), usually 2-3 eyes. Some have natural fancy designs etched into their horns, although this is relatively rare. Connections and themes revolving around flowers, nature, and life are common among Root vessels!

What do you think the equivalent for shades is for the DnD vessel race? Maybe when they die they become spirits that live in a dimension that's the equivalent to the Abyss or something.

I’d consider them some sort of ghost (in the most basic sense), hostile to player characters. I’d give them the ability to reclaim their mask if it’s fixed, as when vessel becomes a shade, its mask cracks. If unable to reclaim their mask within a certain time frame (my thought would be 12 hours, but it’s up to the DM), they would fade and reappear in the Abyss, unable to be revived without a fixed mask. Of course, these are just my thoughts, and I’ll leave it up to the DMs/PCs to decide how they work in their individual campaigns!

Already submitted a google form and don't wanna mess up your data so here's this instead. Idk how much effort it would be, but maybe a "generic" bug race that can be easily customized based on what kind of bug? I'd think it'd strike a balance between amount of work + wide variety of bugs to play as!

Something like a Common Bug or basic Bug race- oh, I could see that. I’ll take that into consideration, thank you!

Hey there! I absolutely adore the homebrew race you made, but there’s one really important thing you missed, but that I’d like to know since I’d love to use them! How do they gain extra health with each level-up? As in, which attribute+dice would we use to increase their health?

I’ve gotten this question before, but I’m happy to answer it again!

This is a Homebrew 5e race option, not class option: classes are where you’ll find the hit die for your character! I’ve based the racial information of the Player’s Handbook, and you won’t find race-based hit die there, only class-based hit die. (However, if you absolutely need the hit die, it’s 1d10 ;) )

I was surfing through the older posts and found the vessel homebrew. While really cool (I'd like to make a Wyrm Paladin, personally, flavor the magic as soul) it seems somewhat unbalanced. How did you imagine a DM would balance that with the other players? Have everyone be vessels, or a level adjustment perhaps?

That’s up to the DM! I’ll admit I’m not very good at balancing and the vessel sheet was my first homebrew, so I’d expect it to be a bit iffy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you’d like some ideas for how to balance it out (other then your suggestions), here’s a few from me:

Permanent disadvantage on charisma-based rolls, or disadvantage against obeying a direct order (centering on the “no mind to think/no will to break line)

Up the charisma decrease to -2

Remove the subrace ability score increases

Drop 1-2 of the extra subrace abilities (6, 13, or 17)

Again, it’s all up to the DM, and I appreciate the feedback!

curious artist question; is okay to draw your ocs interacting with ours(speaking in the sense others would like to know too) so long as it is kept fluff and not angsty? (I can't draw angst anyway but want to clarify) If not that is totally okay since it is your characters!
