Report: Man Brutally Beheads Woman in New York Before Jumping in Front of Train
The community in Farmingdale, New York, is shocked after an unidentified man allegedly jumped in front of moving train shortly after viciously beheading a woman nearby. Citing unidentified sources, WPIX-TV reports the body of a beheaded woman was discovered in Faramingdale near the Long Island Rail Road station. Credit: WPIX-TV Police in Nassau County confirmed the potential suicide on the LIRR tracks, but did not confirm that the death is connected to the beheading. There was no clear connection between the deadly incident and terrorism as of Tuesday night.
However, law enforcement sources reportedly told NBC New York that police are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide. The sources confirmed a woman in her 60s was found with her head severed outside a Farmingdale apartment. Officials reportedly believe the man found dead on the LIRR tracks could be the deceased woman’s son. LIRR also confirmed on Twitter that an “unauthorized person” was struck by a train, delaying the Ronkonkoma line.

He Was Free After Spending 15 Years in Prison. 15 Minutes Later, the Unthinkable Happened.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a man just minutes after his release from a New York state prison, WPIX-TV reported.
The victim is identified as Devon Simmons, 33, who was released Thursday morning from Otisville State Prison after serving a 15-year term, WPIX said.

He was shot multiple times in the upper body, WPIX said; he was in stable condition at a hospital Thursday, according to the New York Post.
The victim had a train ticket to Manhattan where he was supposed to go to a halfway house, WPIX said. But he was picked up by a light-colored Hyundai sedan in front of the prison, officials said.
But 15 minutes later shots rang out about three-quarters of a mile away, WPIX reported in an earlier story.
Sources said the shooter allegedly was angry at the victim for snitching on him, the Post reported.

Two men in the car drove off and the victim limped a few hundred yards to the train station, bleeding heavily, and got help. A passenger at the station called 911, WPIX noted, and the victim was taken by medical helicopter to a trauma center.
Troopers arrested Jerome A. Mack and Edgar Wilson, both 35, in Manhattan around 5 p.m. Thursday, WABC-TV reported. The pair were returned to Otisville that evening and charged with attempted murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, WABC added. Mack and Wilson are being held in the Orange County Jail without bail, WPIX said.
Police said the victim was able to talk to investigators before surgery, WPIX added.
