Maia knew she wasn't supposed to be there but it was a thrill trying to get in some place that was off limits to her. And after all she was trying to be good since coming to town, even so much as giving up her old ways of life to try to be normal for the first time ever, so she felt like she deserved to do something fun for a change. So of course that meant crashing the werewolf party that was invite only.

She came prepared of course, in full gown and mask, but there were still some things she didn't plan for. First she was having a killer headache that she couldn't remember the last time she had one this bad. But she tried to drown it out with music and alcohol as best as she could. Her eyes started to wander around the artifacts, seeing what the museum held and if anything was worth swiping.

Maia knew the secret of getting away with things was acting like you belonged there. But that was hard when she took a very clear wrong turn and ended up at a dead end, turning around to find someone blocking her only way out. She figured there was no use but to come clean. "Okay so maybe I crashed. I'll give you $20 if you forget you saw me. Or another $20 if you add me as a surprise plus one."

one thing is for certain, there are far more people here than were on the guest list. this fact may have his father in law in a tizzy, but spencer is determined to make the most out of the night. these big, flashy events are ironically his least favorite part of being an avery despite them being the very thing his mother sought after until her bitter end. he's eager for the end of the night where there's less prying eyes so he can tear up the dance floor uninhibited. for now, he's settled into nursing the beer that he's carefully stowed away in one of the bar set-ups and being an extra set of eyes for security since the masquerade has become more than anyone anticipated.

spencer spots a drunk woman teetering on her heels a little too closely to one of the museum displays. and speaking of that beer, it splashes out of the champagne flute and across the sleeve of his suit jacket as he collides with someone just two steps into his beeline toward the young woman. instinctively, his free hand reaches out to steady the shoulder of his unsuspecting victim, the burnt caramel smell of his malt beer now permeating the air between them. ❝ how un-hostly of me. are you alright? i didn't getcha with my drink did i? ❞

“Come on in!” Simone called over from the bookshelf she was organizing.

“I’ll be there in a moment!” She said, before carefully stepping off the ladder and walking towards the door of the shop. It had been a slow day so she had time to organize things a bit in between customers. The bookshelf had been needing to be rearranged for a couple of weeks now after some browsing. “How can I help you today?” She asked, before picking Nyx up from one of the counters.

The ending of yet another exhilarating shift meant that Valentine was free from duty and ready to initiate a little disarray. Striding through the vibrant haunt, blaring music vibrates the floor underneath the silenced click of her heels. Glistened, inebriated frames parted for her like the Red Sea, allowing her access to the bar. With grace, she hovers, chocolate hues darting to her first unsuspecting target for the evening.

"Let me save us some time-" The swirling of kaleidoscopic neon lights danced across her flawless features, the potent fragrance of perspiring bodies, alcohol, and a sweetness that was unquestionably wafting off the redhead, clouded the air. "-Do I look ravishing?" A hand drops to motion to the length of her petite frame. "Permanently." Crimson-stained lips pop at the word. "Was I astonishing up there?" The very same limb lifts to gesture to one of the embellished enclosures that filled the club. "Undoubtedly." Always so humble and meek. "Can you offer me a libation…?" Ivory sinks visously into tender flesh, her head cocking slightly to the side as if the female was lost in intense thought. "Be my guest."

To say that the witch Svetlana ❝ Lana ❞ Romanova has been complacent over the years would be an understatement. Even with her membership in the Nightshade Coven, she has found a way to just coast by without exerting any self-perceived unnecessary effort to complicate her blissful peace. That way includes The Soulstone, an anomaly in her life’s philosophy because even if it helps give her a stable source of income, it still requires much effort in sourcing crystals and other objects to enchant as well as ingredients with which potions are brewed. Fortunately for her, mining was a passion, not just a means to an end. Unfortunately for her, she could do with some help around the shop. Lana had been reading an aged book on minerals and ores when a potential customer, more likely a curious straggler, entered the Soulstone, which made her immediately bolt up, especially if this one was actually looking for a job, ❝ Hello! Can I help you, fair stranger? Or maybe you want to help me? ❞

Alexios had already torn apart his penthouse looking for the ring that usually adorned his pinky; it was almost as old as he was, and it was what kept him safe in the sun. Yes, he had other pieces of jewelry that would do the same thing, but none of them had the same sentimental value that that specific ring carried. He had finally dressed and was now walking through the lobby of the hotel, not paying attention to where he went, as he was on the phone texting someone, when his shoulder slammed into someone else, hard.

It was enough to knock them both off balance, and Alexios was shooting daggers that they would dare have the audacity to cause him to walk into them.

"Ever hear of watching where the fuck you were going?" He didn't care if this was a potential high-end paying client to the hotel; right now, they had made the mistake of getting in his pissed off way. "Cause, if not, I'd be more than happy to pay for a few fucking eye exams for you."

❝ Welcome to Oyster Royale! ❞ The often unavailable (and secretly, to most humans and passing tourists at least, merfolk) owner of the restaurant, Izumi ❝ Umi ❞ Tokugawa, beamed with pride. While most people would see her more frequently at the beach or at the docks than at her own restaurant, today was a special day. Well, it was supposed to be. Her head chef had asked her to come and taste their proposed addition to the menu, which she didn’t really care about. At least not as much as most people, including the chef, would think. To her, the chef was the more experienced when it came to food and the menu, so why would she say no to something said chef thought was fit to add to their list of palatable, delectable, and profitable dishes? Umi smiled sweetly from the waiter to the customer at the table, having found a way to free herself from further conversation with her chef after already agreeing to their proposal (she just came to enjoy the food, not be drawn into more talk about sauces and temperature preferences), ❝ What can I help you with? ❞
