Review : Wrath of Silence
Wrath of Silence
Wrath of Silence" Director Xin Yukun uses the art of the film to portray his message to the audience, As I would see it, this is an exceptionally amazing film. Using color grade and the setting of the scene and props, the crowd can plainly comprehend that Zhang Baomin in the town symbolizes the lower-class people. These are little indecencies contrasted with those of the villain, Chang Wannian (Jiang). Underneath the costly suits and shoes lies a mobster utilizing both muscle and cash to control all the coal mines in the area. In his first scene in the film, he is indicated threatening an adversary while a meat slicer spins out of sight. Coming someplace in the middle of these two extremely differentiating characters is Xu Wenjie (Yuan Wenkang), a lawyer under investigation by the authorities for his work with Chang. The emotional attachment to the character of Zhang Baomin was so intense to the point, that one could feel his torment and distress when he was on the quest for his kidnapped child. Hats off to actor Song Yang, he has done justice to the character of Zhang, without articulating a word he has possessed the capacity to communicate monstrously with the audience. His eyes could uncover his entire internal world to the crowd. While observing first 50% of the film, The director makes the audience lost yet once got hold of it, at that point, it was an exciting ride, loaded with nail-gnawing scenes. Especially the cave scene where he hides the girl and felt something inside the cave, showing the genuine characteristics 'strength' and 'flexibility' of Hollywood films. The different points of interest of the film are handled well, and the Editing and soundtrack are likewise developed. The three-story lines are efficient, the characters are enthusiastic and vivacious. The best part was using of symbolic props like pyramids, meat cutter, stones, a cave at the end of the movie the mine collapsed, symbolizing that the child's soul will remain in the cave, and secrets will be buried forever. The color of the movie defines the character very amazing, having the red tone on Chang Wannian, Zhang Baomin with the intense warm tone colors and the lawyer with cool tone until his daughter was kidnapped
.
The ending can be more interesting if the director lets the audience open about the killing of the kid and have not shown the kid making a drawing on the wall. The Director of photography "He Shan" made some amazing frame and the uses of Lomography lenses make the looks of the movie beautiful and sharp.By watching this, I could comprehend a considerable measure of things about cinematography, Production outline, sound, altering pace, narrating.
