"Kup? Haven't seen you in a while."
Cornered in Escape
Crosswise watched as the units burned. He was glad he took Ultra Magnus' advice on escaping the base. He stepped away from the window, thinking about his experience (rather the lack of it).
Ultra Magnus' ship couldn't hold them all, it was by an astrosecond that they were able to load the Jackhammer and get away. The air here was thick with tension, even Jack and Raf weren't talking. Crosswise was sure that it was the same on the Jackhammer between Bulkhead, Miko, and Wheeljack. This was the second base they had that needed to be replaced due to Decepticon attack.
Since the Jackhammer was smaller and able to be used to scout more stealthily than the Virtus, Crosswise had asked for Wheeljack to go ahead and look for a location for a new base. The prime was still concerned about one main problem that remained: they lacked the supplies to build and run a new base since they lost Knockout. They had a chance of pulling a sample of the synthetic energon from their equipment, but it was possible that would have been used up. Crosswise hoped otherwise, also hoping he hadn't burned his yet.
Taking [Drabble]
He would destroy those humans for violating what was theirs. What was his. If he had wanted Breakdown's husk to become spare parts, he would have taken it himself. As entertaining that it was that they had done this to Crosswise, it didn't nullify it.
He'd stormed off through the Autobot base, only realizing he had been alone when Wheeljack intercepted his path, the Wrecker shifting peds and crossing his arms.
"Where y' think you're goin'?" Knockout stared back with ice in his optics.
"Out- for a drive."
"You don't leave unless you're cookin', Doc." Though his composure was calm, his hissing intakes were the only indication of this anger.
"Fine."
He secretly hated carrying the energon with him. Knockout had to be very careful in transforming, not to mention the drag it put on him. His shocks would probably have to be changed out sooner for it.
They rolled out of the base, trailing miles and miles of desert without a single word between them. Knockout just went where his wheels took him, and Wheeljack followed right along. He wasn't as bad about this as some of the other Autobots, Bulkhead was practically on his tailpipe the entire time... probably due to the fact Knockout could out race him. Still, it was rude.
He enjoyed the open spaces for a couple of joors, passing through a few small towns but mostly avoiding humans. Wheeljack finally flashed his lights at him, drawing up close alongside despite the road being one-way.
"Pick a place or we're getting a Ground Bridge back. You're burning off my fuel for nothing." Knockout sighed and diverted off road, slowing down dramatically on the bumpy terrain until he pulled up under an old overpass for a train. From the rust and wear on it, it looked like the trains hadn't passed over it in a long while.
Wheeljack transformed first, stretching out and surveying it himself to send off the coordinates to the Autobot base. Since they didn't want the Decepticons to pick up on Knockout or them, they had disabled all locater beacons temporarily. Still, if they were staying in one place for a while, they might as well record it. Knockout followed suit, and began to set up his things quite slowly. He usually worked on multiple projects at a time, even making some non-pure Synthetic to throw off any spying optics.
This time passed quickly, and Knockout finally looked up from his work to see Wheeljack working on his own science projects. It gave him pause.
"What are you doing?"
"Makin' grenades."
"Well, aren't you handy." His assistant couldn't even do that; then again, Breakdown was better at recognizing tools, not being able to use them. "I didn't know the Autobots at this location had a tinkerer in their ranks." Wheeljack's optics lifted up from the shell in his servos, staring blankly.
"I ain't a tinkerer, either. I graduated from the Academy of Science and Technology before the war- I was an inventor." Well, that wasn't what he expected of a brutish Wrecker. The look on Knockout's face must have said it all, causing Wheeljack to laugh in turn. "Don't get me wrong, I enjoy makin' stuff, but blowing it up is more of my passion."
He couldn't imagine why, but suddenly a great need warmed up Knockout's engines, and he shifted to approach and look at the shell's components. "I know what you mean, I like taking things apart more than putting them back together myself."
"Hah, Mainframe always ragged on me that breaking stuff was senseless and the easy way out, but it's just more fun." He closed up the wiring with a click, giving it a toss up in the air to catch it. Knockout's optics followed a moment before resting on Wheeljack himself, mirroring the smile.
"Right? Everything breaks at some point anyway." His engine purred a little soothingly. "What else do you do for fun?"
"Besides blow up 'Cons?" Wheeljack quirked an eyebrow ridge but his good humor persisted, eager to measure Knockout's reaction. "Wrestling, lob-ball, rollin' my own way and breaking rules. Oh, and 'tinkering', if you'd call it that." He seemed almost baited to ask in return. "What 'bout you?" Knockout took a single clik to measure his response, his vocals lowering a decimal.
"Besides dismantling 'Bots?" The medic leaned in without warning to take Wheeljack's lips with his own, earning a flinch from the Autobot. Knockout pressed harder to keep him there, skillfully enticing the other's pleasure drive. He knew he had triumphed when the sound of Wheeljack's cooling fans came on abruptly, and it was then that he let go, drawing back with a satisfied shudder of his own frame. "Breaking rules sounds like fun to me~"
Wheeljack was left internally reeling though he sat perfectly still, optics refusing to break contact with Knockout. He was conflicted, torn between the realities and his activated desire surging through his circuits. It only played further into the Decepticon's servos, as he moved into Wheeljack to crawl upon his lap, suckling on his neck cables. The war was over and the Autobot lost, wrapping his own arms around Knockout to keep him there, frame arching in satisfaction then launching his own assault...
