I've been thinking about how modern wrestling fans have such a hate boner for Jim Cornette... they don't hate him because he's "bad", "racist", "a bigot", all the other tired, recycled talking points that have been debunked, clarified, and picked apart by anyone with a functioning brain cell and working knowledge of wrestling history...

They hate him because he's bold.

Because he doesn't play the fake-nice game to be marketable.

Because he's loud, Southern, blunt, and completely unapologetic about having standards for wrestling, and not catering to every trend, gimmick, or cosplay act the internet deems "revolutionary" this week.

They hate him because he remembers what wrestling used to be. And because he refuses to sit quietly and smile while the industry gets turned into a circus of flips, memes, and promos written by people who have never taken a bump.

And you know what? I think they hate him because deep down, they know he's right. And that pisses them off.

Jim Cornette is not a bad person. He's the last damn outlaw in a business that sold its soul to brand deals and Twitter likes, and I'll stan him proudly, forever.

As we wind down the year, I think all of wrestling tumblr should share their favorite matches and shows of 2024.

You should use whatever criteria you want. They're your favorites. You decide what made them rule for you. Star ratings. Drama. Horniness. Surprise factor. Cool outfits. Again, there are no wrong answers.
