I'm reading Heroes of Olympus now and I was incredibly confused when my friend said Will becomes Nico's boyfriend. I kept seeing your art with Jason and NIco so I thought Jason was his man. Thought you'd get a laugh at the confusion!

Aside from the glory of JayTim, what heroes or villains do you ship Tim with?

Hmmm so this answer is probably not going to be very interesting for you, but I don’t ship Tim and Jason with anyone except each other. I’ve spent so much time dedicated to writing stories about these two that it doesn’t really make sense for them to be with anyone else.

I’ve read some stories that have thrown in a third person like Dick or Roy sometimes, but JayTim is always at the core of it for me. I just, really can’t separate them.

What are your favorite and least favorite tropes to write about? (Had a long flight from hell and read some of your fics to pass the time so thanks for the entertainment!)

(Sorry the flight was bad, but glad my fics worked as a distraction! XD)

Uh, I adore... fantasy and sci-fi. Give me mermaids and werewolves and space-fiction and assassins and gods. Those are my favorite worlds/tropes. There’s just such a fun variety of things to do with it, and I like the world-building possibilities that come along with them. I get to build a whole world to go along with it if I want to, and my mind just gets to run totally wild.

Less about genre, I’m a big fan of enemies-to-lovers, and then sort of flipping tropes on their heads in general.

As to the ones I hate, well, I once had someone (and I do not recall for the life of me who it was) call them ‘Marmalade AUs’. That’s your... basic life-trope ones. High school, coffee shop, etc. You know the kind. I just find them supremely uninteresting, most times, and painfully frustrating at worse. Also, I hate any AU (coffee shop AUs are the worst at this) that focuses on customer/worker flirting, because no. Not cool to flirt with retail workers that have no choice but to be nice to you or risk reprisal. Been there, done that, it’s uncomfortable and awkward, not hot or charming.

Especially true for the ‘I’m going to come back every day’ variety. The only coffee shop AU I would ever consider writing is one where this behavior is portrayed as exactly as creepy and vastly uncomfortable as it really is.
