Click. Bang. The gun went off. Some poor innocent man died. That's just what happens when playing Russian roulette though huh.
Click. Bang. Another. After another. After another.
He smirked nervously when the gun finally reached him. He prayed that lady luck would be on his side. His sunglasses would hide his expression if it weren't for they way his smile gave it away. He was nervous. He was scared. He was risky and confident. His eyes shifted to the only one left at the table, then his friend who watched from the sidelines.
Click. No bang. Lady luck was with him, perfect. The man set the gun down, sliding it to the man across the table.
Click. Bang. And all the winnings go to the only living left.
He stood from his spot at the table, smiling a bit more confidently now, taking his money. He can't lie though, Everytime he did this he felt guilty, felt horrible. These poor people. Why does he have to be so lucky. He could've died. Why does he do this.
"Good job." His friend congratulated monotonously. He turned away, the gambler following behind him closely. He seemed so excited.
"Did'ja see that trapped! I won again! Haha!" He excitedly followed the other, who didn't reply quite on time. A delayed response.
"Yes I saw, I was there the whole time Chance." Trapped said. He sounded bored. That was normal though, Chance didn't seem to mind. He put an arm around the others shoulder.
"How many times does that make it tonight? 5?" He counts on his fingers. Smiling up at his friend. "Allllright, I saaay we get a couple drinks and go home yeah? See spade 'nd uh dunno watch a movie or somethin'" Chance smiled, pulling Itrapped along with him. The other didn't seem to mind too much.
They stopped by the bar, he sat down and pulled itrapped to a seat beside him.
"What d'ya want Trapped, I'll pay." He asked, tilting his fedora up. Chance took his sunglasses off and hooked them to his jacket pocket.
"I don't want any." Itrapped responded, same tone as ever. He had plans. He didn't want to be hindered by them.
"Your loss!" Chance smiled, ordering a glass of red wine. He carefully sipped from it as soon as it was served to him. He chugged it down after seeing if he liked it. Which he did! Maybe that wasn't a smart idea but when did Chance ever do smart things.
He was going to order another before Itrapped interrupted him.
"Chance. I have to speak with you." The man stood, Chance raised an eyebrow but stood as well.
"About what?" He asked, following the taller outside the casino. Chance felt uneasy, something told him not to go, don't trust this. But he did. Itrapped was his friend, those feelings were just anxiety from the alcohol. Surely.
Once the two were outside, Itrapped lead Chance to the side of the casino. He cupped Chance's face with his cold hands, pulling it closer until their lips met. Chances face turned oh so red. Oh admins..
Itrapped kept the kiss intimate, he held it for a long time. One of his hands found themself at the hilt of a blade sheathed and hidden within a cloak.
He unsheathed the blade while Chances eyes were closed, continuing to kiss the man like he meant it. He did not. Chance only reciprocated, he loved him so much..
The sound of wet flesh tearing as he pulled away from the kiss was heard. It was a sight to see, really.
Blood slide down the blade, it pooled and dripped to the ground.
Drip drop drip drop.
A nervous laugh escaped the gambler as his hands trembled and he looked down at the blade in his chest.
Oh. He didn't fully register the pain until now. It hurt. It burned. Having a blade in your chest is.. it hurts hah.
Chance didn't scream, he let out a quiet pained whimper. He thought.. maybe Trapped loved him. He was wrong though.
"Wh.. Why would ya.. Trapped I-?"
"You're wasting your breath."
Trapped held Chance close, patting him on the back. When he finally pulled away he took the sword with him. He put it back in its sheath. He'd clean it later.
Trapped cupped Chance's cheek as the gambler fell to his knees and stared up at him. His cold fingers kept Chance here, alive.
"I never cared for you Chance. Hah. You were just too dumb to see I was using you. You even fell in love with me, how sweet. I had hoped you would die from day one. This took too long. You never fucking die. It was infuriating. So I decided I'd do it myself." Trapped lifted the fedora off of Chance's head. "And since you're dying I might as well take this back, hmm?" He smiled, Chance's expression showed just how much that pained him. Everything the other had said, it was like being pierced in the heart.
He collapsed as soon as Itrapped let go of him. He lay on the ground, blood beginning to pool around him.
"I'll be glad you're gone, Chance. You were only an obstacle." He hummed, standing above the dying man. They were pathetic.
Trapped turned on his heel and was going to walk away, but that worm grabbed his pant leg.
"Tr..Trapped please d..don't.. don't go.. please.. don't.. don't leave me h..here alone.. please.." His breaths came in short and labored. Tears fell from the corners of his eyes and landed on the concrete beneath him. Would trapped leave him here? Bury him? He didn't know but he was scared.. he didn't want to die here. Guess it's a little too late for that huh.
Trapped stopped, pulling his leg away from the gamblers hands. He left. He didn't want to stick around for this he didn't want to hear the dying man's pleads.
Chance clutched his chest, the blood spilling from it. It all hurt. He was alone. He let out more labored breaths as he closed his eyes. He wished he could've told his family how much he loved them before this.
It was silent for a while.
He gasped, rising from the spot he was laying in, eyes wide, arms flailing as he reached for something, anything to let him know he was here, he was alive.
He clutched his chest and breathed heavily. His head spun, it was dizzying. What happened, where was he. He looked around frantically, the environment was different. Was this a cabin?
A blonde haired man knelt beside the couch? He was on, looking up at him with concern. His red uniform was recognizable from anywhere.
"Wha-? Where am I?" Chance looked at the man, tears fell from the gamblers eyes. Oh, had those not stopped?
"uhm.. nooot- entirely sure.. but welcome?" The blonde smiled, trying to help the other calm down.
"Wasn't I just- I.. I was just- is this heaven? Did I die?" He seemed so genuinely confused. Everything was nauseating.
"No, quite the opposite." A voice came from above, there was a man leaning on the balcony railing of the cabin. "Get used to it kid." He said, looking down at Chance.
"Lighten up Builds," Another said, wings appearing behind 'builds'. A man stepped to the side. His curly hair was recognizable from anywhere. Holy shit those two were admins...
"Wh.." Chance seemed even more confused, everything felt dizzy and confusing.
"Hey, hey." The man in red waves his hand in front of Chance. "First of all, You can call me Elliot, second. Let's get ya some water, does that sound like a plan?" He stood up, holding his hand out for Chance who took it. The memory still burned fresh in his mind.. Elliot held his hand and lead him outside.
Maybe this wasn't all bad..
"What's your name?" Elliot asked, stopping at the side of the cabin, grabbing a glass from his backpack. He knelt and turned a small valve. A faucet spewing water from it into the glass he held under it.
"Chance.." The gambler responded quietly. He didn't know if telling his name to a stranger was a good idea but he did because if he's dead then well,, what does it matter..
"Nice to meet you Chance. D'ya wanna stay out here for a bit? It'd help clear your head. I'll uh.. stay with you unless you want me to leave.. if you'd like." Elliot stood after turning the valve off, handing the glass to Chance.
"That.. yeah. Thanks." He says quietly, sipping from the glass. Elliot lead him back to the front of the cabin. He looked between the porch and the lake. The blonde lead him to the lake and sat in the sand, offering Chance a seat beside him. Chance simply followed and sat beside him.
"Where did you come from? We all came from a place before." Elliot asked, looking at Chance with a smile.
"Casino." Chance muttered, he didn't even know his sunglasses were on. He pushed those up on his nose. He didn't need the other to see his expression. It was devoid of much emotion right now anyway, he was still processing the events before this.
"That sounds nice." He says, looking up at the stars with a smile. Chance looked up as well. He holds the glass of water with both hands as he did so. The sky was nice.
They both sat quietly for a while. It was kinda nice. Elliot was right, it did help kinda clear his thoughts.
