okay so i talked about this briefly in this ask from @ocddeku and

i can't stop thinking about midoriya losing parts of his memory from the war... but then that got me thinking... midoriya only had one for all for about a year. maybe a little over a year? i don't think we ever got confirmation for how long the ember lasts, but even then...

midoriya only had ofa for a fraction of his life. meaning... as he grows older, he might eventually forget what it was like to wield ofa entirely. or what the vestiges looked or sounded like. sure, he's got his suit, but that's not the same. feeling the power physically and using mechanical replicas are completely different... and nothing could replace the presence of the vestiges. they were all his mentors, too.

how did he cope with the memories fading?? i could just imagine him obsessively rereading his journal entries from when he was training with all might trying to jog his memory... AUGH

I was curious about your thoughts on aoyama? Because hes so obviously meant to be a mirror of izuku. Theyre both quirkless boys who wanted to be heroes except izuku got his quirk from the greatest hero alive and aoyama got his quirk from the greatest villain alive 😭. I dont really see many people depicting them together but i really do believe that izuku keeps in touch with aoyama post-war and they trauma bond about growing up quirkless and get really really close in the process. Aoyama becomes one of izukus best friends in the process and they hang out on the weekends ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

ooooh good question!! i do agree that aoyama is izuku's mirror!! i think his role as the traitor is really interesting, and i was honestly disappointed that i didn't suspect him sooner. hori did a really good job disguising him with his loud personality.

lowkey... i didn't have a particular opinion on him (outside of occasionally being a lil obnoxious lmao) until the whole cheese incident.. idk it just kinda rubbed me the wrong way, at least at first. i ended up assuming he was just kinda quirky and awkward despite his ego, so i still found the big reveal to be HEART BREAKING

however, i LOVE his resolution in the final war. he deserves his moment(s)!! (both when tricking afo, and defeating kunieda with hagakure)

i understand why they kicked him out of UA, but also... after they found a way to verify that he wasn't under afo's control/afo was gone, i think they should have let him stay. unless he didn't want to be a hero anymore, ofc. idk, i'd put the blame on his parents more than him. he never really had a choice in the matter, he was just a kid and another one of afo's victims!!

i did appreciate his budding friendship with izuku, even if it was short lived before everything went to shit. i also like your headcanon about them keeping in touch, i can agree with that!! i think izuku especially would have continued to reach out while still at UA. i'm sure aoyama would have continued to support class 1a however he could!!

okay this might be because i'm angst-pilled but my FAVORITE version of bkdk is when katsuki's feelings for midoriya are unrequited

idk there's just something so. captivating about it imo

i just love the idea of katsuki yearning. having to deal with longing so intense and KNOWING that he can't have the relief he needs and having to come to terms with that... while also having to realize OH these feelings aren't just. platonic envy, jealousy, anxiety or being competitive, no, they're WARM AND FUZZY AND GROSS and he HATES IT and he's totally in denial about it and has been for years

and midoriya being the sweet baby he is will of course still get flustered and blushy because WHAT DO YOU MEAN his brooding ex-bully turned best friend has ROMANTIC feelings for him?? the idea of ANYBODY having romantic feelings for him would just. not make sense to midoriya in any capacity, but a confession from KATSUKI OF ALL PEOPLE would completely turn his world upside down

and honestly, if anything i could see it massively strengthening their friendship because midoriya would never ever want to lose katsuki in ANY regard and would likely be more than willing to talk about his feelings and help him work through them
