Oughh….lemme just say writing hell is NOT FUN when you’re trying your write things for a game/something you wanna do………..please let me write about you cigarette man………
Welcome To Writer Hell: NaNoWriMo 2017
So, as many of you know, I’m attempting National November/Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) for the first time with a Star Trek fic, Resurrection: The Year After.
This means that the month of November will be a lot of writing for me. A lot. Some of you may recall that the last chapter of These Ghosts Are Not My Own fried my brain for a good week, and it clocked in at 6,079 words.
I’m aiming for 5,000 words every three days.
This will be by far the longest thing I’ve ever written, and I’m excited to push myself as a writer and a Star Trek fan by taking it on.
What I ask from you is patience and support. I may not have time to make as many edits this month, and I will probably be posting a fair bit about this fic and the research I am doing to write it. Your support would mean so much to me, whether it is through comments on the work itself or your encouragement here.
For those who enjoy my work, I will be attempting to post on the following schedule: 11/1, 11/3, 11/5, 11/9, 11/12, 11/15, 11/18, 11/21, 11/25, and 11/30.
Updates may come sooner than expected, depending on my productivity and schedule at any given time.
Finally, if any of you are doing NanoWriMo, feel free to reach out to me. I think this could be a really fun bonding thing as we all write together. I’d love to hear about your ideas and progress!
With that being said, join me in writer hell.
NaNoWriMo 2017.
I could honestly collapse under the weight of all my WIPs, but then that cute little plot bunny comes bouncing along with the pleading eyes and I happily jump into yet another fantasy mess
Well, turns out that bunny was the evil thing from Monty Python Holy grail, and it said “welp, bitch, time to eat your soul”
me while writing: Is this really shitty characterization/plot point/writing, or does it appear so because I'm reading it for the 1000th time?
I have idea. I open Documents. I lose idea. I die.
"English is not my first language" writers have two modes
Most eloquent and fancy way of expressing themselves to the point it comes off as pretentious (we're trying so hard to use every word we've ever learned but for some reason no native English speakers get taught any of it)
Or
That's not even a language im sure, it looks like every possible typo had an orgy and this was the nightmare baby that came of it
My god, I had a fic that I've gone between editing and rewriting for TWO YEARS. It was supposed to be my first Project Sekai fic, but like, I never felt it was polished enough even when I "finished it" a couple different times. I wrote the original in like four hours one day in October 2022. I've been tormented by this thing for so long. I could just post it, it's probably fine, but it just... doesn't have the right feel. Totally overthinking it, yet I'm still gonna keep working on it. Wish me luck, I think I need it.
