#mafin writer's ask, regarding the location of the mansion versus the location of the factory: is there a clear geography spelled out anywhere?

In the recent ep 318, with Fina waiting on the bench in the courtyard, it looks like Marta stepping is out of the house as if the factory would be right across the courtyard.

Around ep 35 (while fake-dating Gaspar) Fina mentions that she walked her father back to the mansion from the cantina, but that he sent her back half-way, so that would mean some walking distance larger than a courtyard.

Then again there's Marta in the Wedding Episode (269), calling Fina from the mansion late at night and then driving over there with her car which implies a larger distance (and imply her plans to drive up their countryside home, but still).

--- Does the mansion magically relocate depending on who's writing the episode?!

I actually just re-read Back to the Eclipse by @thegirlwhowrites642 again last week. It's such a thoughtfully done, emotive and (what I consider to be) accurate interpretation of a post-DH Hinny reunion. And of course her meta's on Tumblr are trusted inspirations to my own writing as well.

Hm, this is tough, but okay...

Respectful. I try REALLY hard to do these characters justice and respect both their strengths and imperfections.

Intentional. I've often got something up my sleeve with what I include.

Simple? But in a good way? I try to make the chapters easy to read at first, but if you read them again to pick out more details that you might've missed.

😐 What embarrasses you most about your own writing?

I can't believe anyone made it past the first six chapters of TIBs. Granted, I've edited the first three chapters A LOT since first posting, so they're a bit better now, but there're still things I'd change. I'll just leave it at that because I could but don't want to go on 😂

Favorite weather for writing? and Favorite place to write:)

Hey :) Thank you so much for your interest! <3

Favourite weather: Definitely when it's raining! This way I feel justified to sit at home and write :D Sunshine always makes me feel a bit pressured, I hear my mum's voice in my head "the weather is so nice! Don't you wanna go for a walk?" So I always enjoy the "bad" weather. Or, even better, when it's dark...then there could even be a clear sky. Love writing when it's dark outside.

Favroutite place: I still have a good ol' trusty desktop PC on my desk at home, so this is where I write. Not neccessarily a cosy place, the couch would be more comfy, but I need a proper keyboard and screen...I make too many typos while typing on small devices ^^

Honestly, it was an accident. I was young, had unrestricted internet access with parents who have the technical understanding of a too ripe avocado and was left unsupervised.

Things happened.

Besides, I always liked writing. Writing in existing universe which rules, laws and characters I understood was a lower threshold than coming up with everything myself.

Take a step back. Go outside, sit down, stare at nothing. It literally empties your brains cache.

Build some lego. Talk to a friend. Movement helps.

My primary goal for 2025 is to go back and work on original stories, and finish more of the fanfics in my drafts.

🤔 Are there any new characters you want to write about?

When it comes to fanfiction, I want to explore The Wayhaven Chronicles universe and characters, especially detective O'Dell and Nate Sewell.

🥳 How are you going to celebrate when you achieve one of your writing goals?

I don't know yet... maybe I'll commission some art. I'd love to have something for my detective and Nate. :)

Just like that. I don't remember how I got into it back in the 90s, but in 2020, I got into it because I liked some Emralt stories so much, I thought, "Hey, maybe I can do that, too."

Weeeeeell. Might be one of my OCs is a tiny bit like myself. But in general, I don't do reader inserts a lot.

I'm convinced Buck didn't tell Tommy about the sperm donor thingy yet, and it will become a major issue between them for whatever reason.

I still think his bachelor party behavior was absolutely out of character for Eddie. I know the fandom theories, but I disagree.

Maybe the kind of injuries you get from either falling of a certain height and from being shot with a .45

I will fail you... still obsessed with the song, so I'd love to see the topic of the seemingly infallible fail to rescue their loved one. Not necessarily resulting in MCD, though. Don't care which pairing, don't care who'd write it. It's juicy.

Listen, I don't hate characters. That's stupid, they're not real. I admire writers of any kind if they make me feel things about a character, even if it's repulsion. But wait, we have Gerrard in the coming season. Nobody likes Gerrard... are there 3 good things about him? Let's see. He's old, so he might just die soon. He screams at Buck, that might get him in trouble. He's jealous, so he might make a mistake. I think those are good things 😂

There are so many, you know I love all the fanart I ever commissioned or got as a present. But today, I'd like to say this piece by @johix (sorry, if you don't want me to put it directly in a post please tell me!) I just love it.

Usually, two breaks after a paragraph throughout the whole fic. Or when the fic turns out differently than expected, because I often don't read tags and I rarely read things like MPREG and stuff.

24. Are there any easter eggs in [insert fic], and if so, what are they?

Often, let me give you some examples.

In: A matter of Perspective the main characters find an elven laboratory in Toussaint, tracking possible conjunctons and showing that a big one will be happening soon. Two of them believe it, and once is convinced it's just superstition. The place where the find all this is under Mt. Sansespoir, which would translate as "without hope". It's a detail no one really spotted, but it is a hint, that nothing under this mountain is to be taken lightly.

And in: Seven drunken knights Erland tells the other Griffins the story of the card deck, while they are playing, the legend behind the seven drunken knights, he also claims that when he was young many a warrior had such a deck, all claiming of having bought it from someone linked to the story. But throughout the events and the shocking reveal of Erland's own misdeed, he never reveals how he got the deck in the first place, which along with the way he told the story, was an easter egg, hinting that Erland may have been witness to the original events. But in what role?

28. Does anyone read your fics before you post them? If so, who?

Some, not all. @do-androids-dream-ao3acc and @regis-favorite-raven usually take the brunt of my writing sprees when they have the time.

43. If you take/write prompts: what’s your favorite prompt fic that you’ve written?

A question of truth

It was a somewhat unintentional prompt. @do-androids-dream-ao3acc had ranted about the fandom and weird pairing the other evening and she said, that some day someone would manage to pair King Henselt with a chair successfully. I have to admit, the prompt stuck in my head, and I am really proud of the story that came out of it.

47. If [insert fic] was a pair of shoes, what kind would it be? Describe the shoes.

The Raven's Blade series - it would be a pair of really worn down walking boots, boots you crossed half the world in, but that fit your feet so perfectly, they still are the most comfortable shoes you ever had.
