More behind the books insight in today's Writer's Routine: Where/When do you write? I usually write at home, in my small apartment, with a dog snoring nearby. As for when, I find that my most successful writing happens at night, after everyone else has gone to sleep. The emails stop coming in, social media goes quiet, the phone stops ringing. A heavy silence creeps in. I can feel the minds in the city shutting off, and it gives room to stretch creatively. I stop worrying about what other people might think, because no one is thinking. They are dreaming. And then, so can I. • What do you eat/drink to keep yourself charged throughout a writing day? I usually start the day with coffee made on the stove with a moka pot. But when I don’t know what to write next, I make tea. So I make a lot of tea. Usually Earl Grey, Matcha, or Nettle.
