What Is America's Most Popular Accent?
Here's a lil something I just answered in Quora I thought might get a few laughs, again it's plain old FACTS!!
I was real quick to say the Boston/NE accent, but you have to always remember that down south Southern twang. That Jim Bob fast talking, silky smooth, slow red neck communicator…
I mean when you say most popular it can be looked at in a few different ways. I would say the southern accent simply because if you take the amount of people that talk that way vs. the amount that have that bean town sound the southern folk win all day.
But I like the way they drop the Rs in their speech up there in Boston. “Don't go getting in ya Caa after u put down a few at the baa". Me and my friend would get a kick out of trying to sound like that.
Then you go deep, and I'm talking 20.000 thousand leagues under the sea deep into the backwoods of the south, and good luck trying to identify one word them sound slinging suckers are saying. You gotta have a whole new kind of dictionary with you to follow them conversations. Don't get alarmed because that suckers prolly only 2–3 pages thick.
So To me it's a toss up between the southern accent and Boston's when it comes to the most popular. What you think??
