WriteTrack
Okay, so for those of you who haven’t heard of this fantastic site, listen up. It’s legit helped me with my writing so much.
WriteTrack is a sight that lets you set word goals for whatever amount of time you want, whether it be a day, a week, a month, or even a year, and then tells you how many words you need to write every day to reach your goal. Then you put in the number of words you write that day, even if it’s more or less, and it recalculates how many words you need to write to stay on track for the remaining days your challenge is going on.
So let’s say I want to write 30,000 words in the month of January (cause I tend to like monthly goals).
You hit the create new button, enter in the time frame, and then hit create
Once you do that you can click the challenge and see just how many words you need to write each day to hit your goal.
Then you guys click on the day you’re on and enter the words and it’ll do all the math for you. And, for those of you who aren’t really into the whole grid thing shown, above that there’s a progress bar that shows the total target, where you are currently, and where you should be, and if you look on the right of the screenshot there’s a button that says charts that will show you the same thing in chart form.
These are from my year-long challenge this year where I tried to write 400,000 words, which I’m obviously not going to finish, but that’s not the point. The point was to have a goal to work towards, so I had this going throughout the entire year, as well as more specific challenges like *write 20,000 on X story*.
This site literally made me 100 times more productive cause seeing my goal and seeing how much I needed to write to reach it made me actually sit down and write more than I probably would have.
And, the best part, THE SITE IS COMPLETELY FREE
So if you have a problem with writing consistently or just need goals to work towards to keep you writing, like I do, please go check out this site.
