00:00:00 (Because want one too.)
in a universe where everyone is born with numbers on their wrists counting down to when they’ll meet their soulmate, send me 00:00:00 for my muse’s reaction to their numbers hitting zero when they meet yours.
It's kind of always just been a fact for Bellamy that his clock is broken.
it's not like he could let anyone in anyway, even if he did meet his soulmate, what if they found out?
It counted down once, long ago. He remembers looking at it and not quite understanding the numbers, but they were small and so was he.
Then one day, as his mother tried to lull Octavia off to sleep, he looked at his wrist and he realised somewhere, in the last week, his number had run down to zero.
He supposes he walked into someone while he was out. It's the Ark, after all, no one's numbers really run past ten-to-fifteen years. He tucks it out of his mind. He's a kid, it doesn't matter. Then he's a teenager and he doesn't care because all that really matters is keeping O safe and protecting mom.
Somewhere along the way, she notices her wrist and starts crying. He follows her gaze and swallows. "It's okay," he says, wrapping around her and pulling her close. "Look." He shows her his wrist, 00:00:00 clearly displayed, just like hers. "I missed mine too."
And that's the moment when the penny drops. That's the second he realises just when his clock ran down. Her clock never ran down because...
"You have one too, O," he says, meeting her eyes. "You do." At her disbelief, he touches her chin, tilts her face up and looks at her. "My clock stopped the moment you were born."
And that's the moment he kisses her.
