Stories choose us. If you try and force a story, you will feel more than writer’s block—you’ll feel writer’s boulder. It’s terrible & I don’t recommend it. Please stop writing to fight against “The Man”—he doesn’t give a sh*t. Please stop writing to impress—they’ll find something to hate anyways. Please don’t feel like you have to write The Immigrant Story or the Politically Correct story if your heart isn’t in it. You have nothing to prove. Get quiet, get honest: What stories do you dream about telling? What book would you be pissed as hell to learn someone else wrote before you? Write that. Flick those dusty “shoulds” from your shoulder and write the story (stories) that chose YOU. There is someone out there who needs to hear and read that story as it comes from YOU. Write from your own messy, gorgeous heart and you’ll never go wrong. And that resistance won’t be as crazy, I promise you. I’ll help you turn your sh*tty first draft into a work of art (and heart). I’ll help you live as if your wounds were your superpower and create work you love. Sign up for my moonletter newsletter & head over to hannahoeko.com/coaching to learn more. Also: I host a really fun, low pressure, writing workshop for the canna friendly writer the first Saturday of the month. Check out the link in my bio to learn more, we meet this Saturday, February 5th and we’d love to have you. 💋✌🏿, Hannah • #selfhelpbooksforwomen #essaycollection #honeyistheknife #writingcoaching #bookcoach #selfcelebration #divinefemininepower #writingcoach #hannaheko #findmywritingcommunity #writingbooks #nonfictionbook #bookcoaching (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZgPhUTL86Q/?utm_medium=tumblr
