"It's been quite a while since I've seen you. I hope you're doing well, Miles. At least, I hope you're Miles. I noticed at the end of your letter you had quite a lot of difficulty deciding on a name to write, with many crossed out attempts next to your name. But that doesn't really matter, I'm glad I got to hear from you after so long. Ethan left a year ago but I've just been staying at the house without any plans to leave. It's usually very quiet and lonely, but I try not to let it bother me. When we were younger I just wished a had a moment alone, away from our family. You can surely agree that if given the chance to stay away from the mess that is our family, you would have taken it too.
I think it was about 4 years ago when you told me about your plans to leave to go to that island (whatever the name of it was, I don't think you ever told me), I felt proud that you actually felt brave enough to leave, although we both wanted to leave for very different reasons. I tried looking for the island you were so obsessed with, but instead just found a large building in its place, so I'm guessing that's not where you ran off to. Wherever you went, I hope you're happy. I've been quite happy here, living all alone. Well, Adam is also still here but I'm not quite sure if he counts as a person anymore.
I was really glad to get a letter from you, but now I can't help but wonder how you will receive this letter. Your letter arrived in quite a strange way, I left the house this morning to find a man standing right outside. He had the head of a crow and just stared at me while holding out your letter, he didn't move until once I entered the house again. When a checked a little while later, he was rowing his boat across the lake and it just made me think of you again. If he ends up delivering this letter to you, I'll ask him to tell you to please just visit next time."
