Nothing But Drama
Becky: smiled as she looked at her surroundings. Degrassi Community School. This would definitely be one for the books. She had no clue what to expect, and this put her adrenaline on the edge. When she, along with her brother and his hockey teammates, were given the orientation by the principal, she could tell that this school was one of the better public schools, possibly even better than her old school in Florida. They had a great Athletics department, which of course interested Luke, a multitude of technology classes, and an excellent drama department, which had herself bouncing on the edge of her seat. At her old school, she was the director of the drama department. Becky had a huge appreciation for plays, musicals, recitals, or anything of that nature. Last year, she had directed a production of “Legally Blonde” that went perfectly according to plan, just the way Becky wanted it. When Becky began asking questions about the drama department, the principal told her that he didn't know half the answers, and that she should find Eli Goldsworthy.
After the orientation and the assembly to welcome all of the new students into Degrassi, they were sent out into the hallway, and would be given a short passing period before having to embark to their classes. Becky found herself aimlessly wandering the halls, hoping that she would find this mysterious Eli Goldsworthy. Fortunately, she was in luck. There in front of her was a boy with long, untamed black hair, wearing a blue polo, who was casually kissing a girl with short curly hair and a red polo under a blazer. “Edwards, Goldsworthy, no public displays of affection,” a teacher said as he walked by. Becky could not believe her ears. ‘Goldsworthy?’ She thought to herself, “That’s not a very common last name, so this must be the person I’m looking for!’ Becky then mustered up some confidence and walked over to the happy couple. “Are you Eli Goldsworthy?” She asked with a sparkling smile on her face.
“The one and only,” He said with a smirk plastered onto his face. Becky instantly felt heat rise up to her cheeks as she continued looking at his lovely green eyes, and his brilliant lips that looked ever so kissable. ‘No wonder this other girl was all over him, I would be as well’, Becky thought to herself. In fact, she was starting to feel as if she was all over him. Regaining her composure, which was actually quite harder than she thought since she was fairly flustered over Eli, she introduced herself with a bubbly smile on her face and a perky tone in her voice, “Hi, I’m Becky Baker, and I’m interested in joining the drama department with you.”
