Imperfect Cadence, a Charlie/Matteusz oneshot
it’s the piano fic, y’all. post-series, technically set during Unstoppable Force but the references to stuff from that are vague enough
Rating: G
Pairings: Charlie/Matteusz, Matteusz & Quill
Summary:
There's one thing from his old home that Matteusz misses that is... different.
When Charlie finds out that he plays piano, he insists on buying one for the house so that Matteusz is once again able to play. Both Charlie and Quill end up taking lessons from him, and Matteusz finds himself truly feeling at home in this new, somewhat stranger household.
Preview:
"So you haven't been able to play, since you left home? Because we don't have a piano here?" Charlie asks.
Matteusz shakes his head. "There is piano at school, but never a good time to use it."
"Well… why don't we get one?" Charlie asks, looking from Matteusz to Quill, who has her mouth full of toast and pauses when she realises that he seems to be asking her permission.
That's something that will take awhile to get used to, as well. The shift in power. Quill now actually being treated like the adult authority in the house, and not just the person Charlie can order around and expect to take care of things. Charlie is wary of her now. While she has assured them that she has no plans on killing Charlie, if only because watching him suffer from guilt is preferable to that, everyone in the house is now very aware that if she wanted to, she could.
Quill is the one with the power these days. Even if she is heavily pregnant. And boy, does everyone know it.
In this case, Quill seems almost bemused at being addressed. "Why are you looking at me? Get one if you want. Why would I care?"
"You may not like the noise," Charlie says. "I don't know. You have issues with a lot of things I don't understand."
"Classical music - or romantic music or baroque music or whatever it is, is not just noise, Charles, or else it would be called noise and not music," Quill says to him in that tone of voice that one takes with a particularly dim-witted child or conservative adult.
"Can we really just… buy a piano?" Matteusz asks, with disbelief. It can't be this easy, surely. Life isn't that kind, surely the events of late have proved that.
"Well, it's not like we don't have the money," Charlie says, with that simple, cheerful smile that caused Matteusz to fall in love with him in the first place.
Matteusz tries not to think about how much money the Doctor gave Charlie and Quill. He's not entirely sure that they even know. He just tends to think of it as 'enough'.
"We can look up piano shops tonight, and go shopping tomorrow," Matteusz says. "Perhaps we could bring April."

lips-of-rainbow replied to your chat: Twelve: Bill, this is Quill. Quill, Bill - ayeee...
Kalei would love bill
Kalei WILL love Bill, for sure. Twelve and Bill will definitely pop into the fic verse at some point.
Bill is going to lose her lil gay mind when she finds out how many hot gay ladies he’s friends with lmao
“Doctor, can we go and see your hot gay lady friends” “uhhh ok?”
they land in Victorian England and Bill is like “wait, who are - oh uh hi ladies” and then “DOCTOR THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT BUT IM NOT COMPLAINING” “oh you meant the modern interspecies bisexuals as opposed to the Victorian interspecies lesbians”
Vastra and Jenny don’t know whether or not to be offended or flattered that they’re the wrong hot gay ladies
Bill is just. having the gayest time.

What (Not) To Do In A Space Hospital, a Class fanfic
Rating: T
Pairings: Charlie/Matteusz, Ram/April
Summary:
The Doctor takes Quill to a space hospital to have her baby. While she's in surgery, and her girlfriend (the Coal Hill maths teacher) waits anxiously outside, the five teenagers explore the space hospital, with... varying results.
At least the hospital security staff only have to get involved once.

Matteusz has never been more grateful for the existence of a tree in his entire life. It's a strange tree, with large pink leaves and an entirely smooth trunk, but the trunk is solid and thick and perfect for being pressed against by cute boys.
So, basically, Matteusz is thinking - as Charlie's lips move along his neck - that he owes the gardener a serious thank you note.
Matteusz could probably be content to just kiss Charlie for the rest of his life, but he definitely likes the other things too. Sex. The stuff that comes before sex, like this, the hard kissing and grinding and gripping of each other's hips.
Charlie has a penchant for taking charge with this sort of thing - it's the royal in him, Matteusz is fairly sure - and he is completely alright with that. Charlie is much stronger than he looks. It turns Matteusz to jelly, every time.
"Ahem."
The boys break apart to see a very unimpressed security officer standing there with some kind of torch in his hand.
"Um," Matteusz says, feeling his cheeks burning. "hello."
"Nice evening, isn't it?" Charlie asks, with forced cheer.

Kalei for the blog thing. Do it. Come one.
she’s such a tumblr person, she probably DOES have a tumblr lmao
their blog url: butterfly-bisexual
the kind of posts they reblog: aesthetic flower and butterfly stuff, math jokes, the odd meme, funny stories about her students, and social justice/LGBT stuff
the first person they followed: a Michelle Obama fanblog
what kind of theme they’d have: simple and pretty and with some kind of floral background
what kind of text posts they make at 2am: pictures of her cat, and “shouldn’t it be against the laws of the universe for a physics teacher to be hot at all, let alone hot enough that I’m thinking about it when I can’t sleep”
put a character in my ask and I’ll describe their Tumblr blog!
The Unstoppable Force and the Sometimes Movable Object, chapter 12
Quill tells Kalei more or less everything - including how her people would show affection to each other.
Preview:
“So, the war. The fight for your freedom. You told me you lost."
"Yes, we did." Quill's face has fallen and she is back to the quiet, controlled storyteller. "After months of fighting, I'd...well, I'd risen in the ranks. Quite by accident, actually."
"How do you rise in the ranks by accident?" Kalei laughs.
Quill shrugs. "By not dying. Commanders fall, you don't. Do well enough for long enough, before you know it you've got a command whether you wanted it or not."
"Did you?"
"I honestly have no idea," Quill admits, frowning, "It all happened so fast, I never really had time to stop and think about it. I had the necessary skills to do the job. I did it better than those who did it before me and as a bonus didn't die within the first three weeks of taking up the position. Our constantly changing leader was one of the reasons we couldn't quite build enough momentum - until that position fell to me."
"Wait, you were the leader of the whole rebellion?"
"There were posters all over the planet calling for my arrest," Quill recalls with a hint of pride in her tone, "Of course, they called me a terrorist, but the Quill knew the truth. That I was a freedom fighter, that I was committed to saving them no matter the cost."
