So, I could have died tonight. I was nearly in a head-on collision with an SUV - that was in the wrong lane (there is a median that separates a four-lane road) - while coming home from work. Thought it was strange seeing headlights in the lane I was in, so I slowed down and stopped, right in the middle of an intersection, with another car in the lane to my right so I couldn't move over. I flashed my lights at the driver, and then pressed down on my horn. Only then did he swerve out of the way as I was about to throw my car in reverse to avoid him. No, I didn't call the police, I didn't stay. I drove home, came inside, and breathed a sigh of relief. Throughout the entire three minutes that this happened, I was surprisingly calm. I'm just glad to be here now to be able to say that I am here.
