〈 wrong place; wrong time。 〉
organic chemistry.
it’s one of yeeun’s most favorite topics, if she has to be honest. wait, yeeun paushes, pursuing her lips deep in thought, actually, she enjoys every topic of science. yeeun’s passion for science is probably why she’s still holding her chemistry textbook, after school hours, sitting in a park. it’s funny how despite wanting to live a normal life, yeeun is still attracted and is still pulled towards the art of knowledge.
deep in thought, she flips through the pages, occasionally pausing to scrawl notes in her hello kitty notebook. it is as though she in a world of her own – where chemical formulas take life and the only thing that matters is the experiment she has to prepare for her next class. gently turning the page (yeeun can’t afford to hurt her textbooks, they’re like pets to her), she moves on to the topic of deforestation and air pollution.
a strike of guilt hits her as she realizes she is under a tree and she is one of the causes to why trees will go extinct one day. i should stop breathing, she thinks before brushing it away as a unreasonable thought. however, before she can help herself, her mind has already filmed a drama – in which all trees are extinct due to humans, where trees will be lonely and there’s no place for animals to live and it’s all her fault and before she can help it,
yeeun bursts into tears.
