Matt could still feel his gaze.
Even after the stained knife clattered to the floor ,
Even after the house began to grow smaller and smaller before disappearing beneath the horizon ,
Even after they'd 'won' .
He could still feel him , watching , judging. He could feel his impatience , his curiouoisty ,
They weren't feelings he wanted to have , but they were as invasive and attention grabbing as the man they belonged to.
After a while , however , the sensation faded into background noise and a new feeling took up its place.
Matt looked up from the backseat , watching Edd grip the steering wheel tightly as he dove. Even if Matt didn't have this odd empathic link Edd's posture would've surely given away the fact something's wrong.
Edd did look rather freaking out after Matt had stabbed Tom after all.
It was out to self defense , and it wasn't like the boys were adverse to injuring others they were having issues with , Edd's reaction was totally uncalled for.
Even with that attempt to rationalize Matt found himself worried.
Was Edd scared of him now?
Edd wouldn't be , he couldn't be! Matt was always seen as the least threatening of group , the weak one.
Matt felt something brush against his hand , looking down he noticed Ringo nudging it the best she could from inside her carrier.
Matt gave her a faint smile , sticking a finger through one of the holes in the little fence and scratching the top of her head as Ringo purred contently.
Those were questions he could worry about at a later time , for now they had to focus on driving.
Focus on getting to Kathy's.
