she’s never really seen a bloody fight until you watch frank fight, she realizes. she’s been in some fights before, the kind where you’re put right through a wall. but frank’s fights were bloody. bloody in a way she didn’t quite know could get bloody. reaching forward she caught the wrist of the kitchen irish mobster trying to stick a knife in him, and tossed him backwards. it felt like his shoulder may have popped out of the socket, but hey he’d get up tomorrow.
“you’re looking great,” she said, reaching over to pick him up. jess picked him up in her arms. “but we’re going to go ahead and leave before you pick up any stab wounds. try not to bleed on me too much, okay?” she said.
hell’s kitchen wasn’t that big, it was easy enough to get him to her apartment so he could start bleeding all over her couch instead of her jacket. “so do they call you the punisher because you give out punishment or because you take a lot of it?” she asked, grabbing the first aid kit from under her bathroom sink.

You didn’t spend a lifetime jumping around the rooftops of New York City and not learn who’s who of the nightlife. Of course she’s heard of the Punisher, who hasn’t? She just had — surprisingly — not run into him yet. How had she run into Dr. Strange before Frank Castle? If that wasn’t proof enough that New York was an odd place she didn’t know what was. Her white boots were silent as she landed on the rooftop wondering if this was happenstance or if he was looking for her.
If he was looking for her she sure hoped it had to do with wanting her help and not … you know punishing her. Not that Felicia had ever hurt anyone. On her worst days she stole from the rich, which she hadn’t been doing as much since Peter started nagging her about it. Really, if there was such thing as a victimless crime, stealing from the rich was it.
“Sorry, I didn’t realize you’d booked this rooftop for 2am,” Felicia said, crossing the rooftop over to where he was. Unafraid in a way that only a cat could be. “So… casing the joint across the street? Is this place about to be a blood bath? Needed my services but the light at the catsignal is out?”

‘ i would love to play cops and robbers , wear a mask , and feel important , but guess what ? recess is over . ’

𝗦𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚'𝗦 𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘, whip firmly in her hand. the wind rushes past in a way that always exhilarates her — a prime reason she finds the rooftops a sanctuary and a playground all the same. a playground she can toy with a mouse on or let some disillusioned top dog come barreling after her until she leaps away at the last second. it will take nothing more than a couple flicks of her wrist. to send her whip cracking through the air. put this guy on his knees and swing off to the next rooftop before he can stumble to his feet.
‘ RECESS IS OVER ? really ? if that’s supposed to insult me, it’s not gonna work. never really had recess, anyway. but if it’s anything like they show on tv, we’re missing some bubble gum and the all-so desirable lunch money. ’
selina scoffs, shaking her head. she could easily vanish right now. leave him with that and move on with her night. but she sticks to her ledge, baiting it out. whenever someone comes after her, there always comes a time where she needs to find out who they are. what they want. how to shake them off her tail for good. now’s always a good a time as any to figure out how much shit she’ll be dealing with.
‘ so if you’re not into playing COPS AND ROBBERS, then what are you doing chasing me ? ’ an eyebrow quirks upward, head tilting. ‘ you don’t seem to want to partner up. does tracking me down make you feel important ? —or do you just like the view when you’re stuck chasing my tail ? ’ / @wrzne ♡
wrzne replied to your post: there’s a real chance i’m going to watch jj s2 to...
literally me getting ready to rewatch it
jj s2 - we heard everything you complained about with s1, and just made it worse. so more abusing black men. there’s women of color, they’re not main characters, they get few speaking lines. and also get murdered.
also we made sure to write “no homo” on all the scenes where jess and trish interact.
also we did that thing where we make super powers a thing people are prejudiced against, but literally all the people who don’t like jess because she has powers are people of color.
this season was written by the straightest, whitest feminists they could fill the that writers room with.
wrzne replied to your post: i should do a write up on my mcu verse. it would...
can you imagine a jj series where melissa rosenberg knew what to do with black men besides fetishizing them because same
jj but ... where black men are treated by objects by the white lead, and where the show runner like has any historic understanding the power dynamics between white women and black men, and black women don’t get fridged for them, and also like .... woc exist in the series at all.
