She laughed, corners of her lips pulling back and spreading to form a wide smile. Even still, Jiyeon felt nothing less than adoration for her dear friend, and quite frankly she probably should have known better than to get too sentimental—but she couldn’t help herself. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” she started, chuckling lightly once more, fingers releasing themselves from the coffee cup in front of her so she could defensively hold out her palms to the younger.
“It’s just—I should be practicing right now, especially since we have our comeback coming in literal days. But it’s not like I’m unprepared. Having the chance to see you today was something I couldn’t pass up.” Shrugging, she pulled her hands back, shoving her sleeves down to cover her chilled knuckles, slender fingers taking their place back around the warm cup of coffee after setting some more tissues next to Haeun’s cup.
“But I wish we could spend more time together too,” she reiterated, lifting the cup to her lips and taking a long sip, eyes closing as the liquid quickly warmed her core. Her eyes opened, and she felt newly formed tears coating her lower eyelid. “At least now you aren’t the only one crying,” she said teasingly, rolling her eyes playfully as her lips pulled into a sheepish smile.
