The first thing I drew out were the green rectangles with various textures painted onto them. They were satisfying to draw, but at that point I already knew that I was going to ruin them. The question was, "How?" I knew it was going to be overtaken by doodling.

So without a solid plan, I doodled. As I drew the different layers of free-handed squiggles and shapes, I started messing with the box shapes and different effects.
