Are you really sure that anime is responsible for GinTae's lack of success in the fandom, or is it because there isn't that much of shiptease in the manga that was then adapted to the anime in the first place? Seems like that last anon said that they actually added GinTae scenes.

Hey that’s my opinion. I don’t need shiptease in the manga coz the content there is good. I still blame the anime, the producers and the merch team for most things. Who cares if they said little flirty lines in added scenes anon? They still did not animate the more important dialogues. They turned Otae's character into something else ffs.

Imagine if your ship or whatever your fave dynamic’s strongest moments are freakin cut out. If you can’t then good for you. I as a GinTae have to live with that fact everyday.

Most people wont even touch the manga. Everyone keeps hyping the anime as god level sht. People keep saying Sorachi gave up on GinTae just from watching the anime as if he had the last say in how it was adapted. Get real anon. You don’t know my pain.

I can't stop being surprised of how often you read in the text what's not there. Does this blind say that that actor is full of himself? Does it say that one actor is hating another? No, it does not say any of that. It only says that one actor doesn't like what another has become. What he has become (in the opinion of that other actor, not ours), we don't know.  But it's not contradicting the first blind.  

There is no contradiction because, yes, as you mentioned, MF thought (according to that BI) that BC should stand for himself. It IS about character. Standing for himself = not being a coward/conformist choosing the path of least resistance. 

Now to that acerbic sense of humour you mentioned. You might be aware that I'm aware:) It was too much even for him.

To me the blackmail angle of the old blind doesn’t work with Martin presumably being sooooo very angry at Ben that he doesn’t want to have anything to do with him WTH Anon.  What is he angry at Ben about?  The fact that he doesn’t have balls?  The fact that he caved in to blackmail?

If he isn’t angry and just disapproves of Ben falling victim to his circumstances, would it explain a consummate professional being so disdainful over a situation that doesn’t affect him in the least?  We are talking about Martin Freeman; not a 12 year old girl.

As to the interview, I asked MFA, but she has no recollection of such a comment from Martin.

What I think a lot of us forget is that JW and SH are not your average normal relationship (both creators & cast talked about it a lot). They cannot be measured by our standards. 

Sherlock has also abused their friendship a lot (emotional abuse like lack of communication, trust, leaving John behind (accidentally or deliberately), drugging, deceiving him, lying to him, faking his death - is no less of abuse even if it doesn't leave visible marks.  So they love each other, hurt each other, understand each other, forgive each other. This is how they work. 

"This is what it is": a unique relationship that doesn't fit any definitions/labels and shouldn't be squeezed into them (this is, I think, the use of that phrase in that dialogue was about). 

Re 'JW's season. It was John's season straight from July 2010, but as this story is about Sherlock & John becomes more & more important to Sherlock,obviously, John starts to feature more

You raise some excellent points WTH Anon.  I have to be honest and say I never thought of it that way.  Measuring those two characters by “normal” standards doesn’t really apply, does it?

Meanwhile, I’m not complaining at all about this one being John Watson’s season.  My one complaint is that I want to see the lighthearted fun (as much lighthearted fun one can find in serial killer cabbies and psycopathic consulting criminals) return to the show.
