'Habbo Hotel'
[BROWSER] [MEXICO] [MAGAZINE] [2009]
"Habbo (formerly known as Habbo Hotel) is an internet social networking site operated by the Sulake Corporation. Aimed at young people and teenagers, Habbo features chat rooms designed to resemble hotel rooms, rendered in isometric projection. Registration and entry to Habbo are completely free, but access to additional services requires the purchase of "Habbo Credits," the in-house currency, which can be obtained by paying with real money via credit card or by sending an SMS message. Habbo Credits are used to acquire extra items within the hotel, such as Habbo Club membership and the ability to purchase furniture, called "furni," among other things. The service was launched in August 2000. It has expanded to 31 countries and is currently available in 21 languages The network's growth is so significant that over 75,000 new users join daily, 9,500,000 unique visitors are registered monthly, and more than 100 million accounts have been created. Furthermore, 80% of visitors are between 13 and 18 years old. In 2008, Habbo boasted over 110 million accounts worldwide, with the Spanish and Latin American hotel contributing more than 15 million accounts to that total. The highest number of concurrent users across all hotels was recorded in the Spanish and Latin American hotel, where approximately 67,000 users have played simultaneously in a single hotel." ~Jorge Alberto Durán Chávez, Colegio Ciencia y Tecnología ("Diferentes Partes de La Maquina", via Scribd) [BMT🤖]

Do You Still Remember Chat Rooms?
Chat rooms were so popular back then in 1990s and 2000s, I still remember the experience even though at that time I could only feel a little bit at the end of its popularity in the early 2010s. Somehow I still use some of the remaining chat rooms from 1990s and 2000s like Chat-Avenue or Paltalk.
I miss chatrooms
if you were a trans guy in dragon city chatrooms in 2017 and dated a girl for 3 days please let me know because it was probably me and i just wanted to let you know that because of you i realized i was also trans (also we never officially broke up so yay t4t ftw)
Are digital Pen pals still a thing?
I'm not sure if they still exist but I'm looking for recommendations on sites that act as a digital pen pal. I've been feeling nostalgic and wanna talk to new people but I'm not sure if I'm looking for something that no longer exists.
(Alternatively, if anyone wants chat in that format here, on TikTok or Instagram I'd be happy to meet new friends any way really)
I'll listen to problems and give advice or we can share funny jokes with each other whatever suits tbh
