Do you know why everybody on Tumblr hates Banksy's Dismaland, but loves fanart of the Disney Princesses re-imagined as ~gritty~ ~realistic~ ~rebel warrior~ ~zombies~? Because I'm at a loss here!

Well, I mean The way I see it, people like Reimaginings of princesses and other Disney characters because they’re both A) a homage to the originals and B) devoid of any message by itself. I mean, when you see Jedi Knight Elsa, it’s not trying to say Elsa is bad or Star Wars is wrong; is simply a statement that both are awesome) Banksy’s Dismaland, on the other hand, is the very opposite of these two topics because Dismaland is A) a very obvious insult not only to Disney characters, but to the people who consume Disney entertainment (one of the pictures of Dismaland has a lady distributing balloons written “I am an Imbecile”. I mean, if you’re gonna call me sheeple, at least put on a fedora) and B) Banksy is trying to pull out some form of message trough Dismaland. The general opinion is that this message is either too vague (“Shamu going out of a toilet? Because get it? Whales are like?? Poop????”) or too pretentious (graffitis written “life is not a fairy tale”. No shit Madam Bovary.) So that’s tumblr’s problem with it, I believe.
