praying for times when srf will employ f1 commentators who don‘t just constantly talk out of their asses

so within the last few weeks: one of our fourth graders (10yo) came to school with a knife. he didn‘t use it or anything but he had it with him, because he held a grudge against another kid who had called him out on doing something wrong the week before. another of our fourth graders tried to attack one of his classmates with scissors. when the scissors were repeatedly taken away, he threatened to hurt himself instead.

nothing like a sixth grader trying to gaslight you into admitting his continued disrespectful behavior towards the entire class and teacher was actually „not that big a deal, why are you making it such a thing by bringing this up again??“

you know what, sometimes i honestly lose faith. like i realize it probably sounds like i‘m only ever complaining about my job and i promise that‘s not how it is. but some of these kids. and parents. it‘s honestly beyond words… the amount of unbelievable stories i could tell you JUST from this week.

just had a parent-teacher meeting with a woman who accused us of only ever seeing the negative. her son has amassed 9 whole pages of (mostly behavioral) official system notes in the last 8 months. i looked up a completely average student for comparison. she doesn‘t even have a full page, and about half of that are absence notifications.
