What music were the rock characters listening too during their road trip?
feel free to say which music you think each one was trying to put on individually :)
Consulted w/ the rest of the crew bc I wanted to get their thoughts as well:
Harvey is absolutely an alt rock / pop punk / power pop guy first and foremost. Lot of stuff from the 90s and 2000s. He's got mp3s of all the songs from the home edition of Crazy Taxi ("everybody complains about them taking out the original tracks when they ported it, but honestly Your Mouth Is A Guillotine is way better than anything The Offspring ever recorded"). I feel like he'd have a soft spot for 80s hard rock as well, but he's a lot pickier about it. If he's looking for something a bit more relaxed he'd probably go for Johnny Cash. Hang on now I'm picturing him blasting "Wreck of the Old 97" while driving like a maniac, completely heedless of the irony, and I'm in love with that mental image.
Christina is definitely into VGM and anime OPs, but - especially at the time - would probably have been too self-conscious to actually play them for the whole car. Per Iris, she would generally go with classic rock bands of the 70s and 80s, the sort of stuff her parents listened to a lot, figuring they wouldn't make her look too dorky. I can imagine her dipping into electronica and heavier rock from time to time as well.
Virginia didn't know a lot about music so she was still figuring out her tastes. Since her Eidolon is named after a Billy Joel song, I imagine she'd be pretty into that style of rock; Elton John might also be a hit. Other than that she'd be putting on a pretty eclectic mix of stuff - probably "whatever's on the radio, but she's changing the station a lot." Girl who pivots from hip-hop to classical to folk to heavy metal three times in an hour.
Chili did not know a lot of bands at the time, but she likes basically all of Fleetwood Mac's work. Lexi mentions her getting into an argument with Harvey over whether the Santana cover of Black Magic Woman is better or worse than the original and that's delightful to me. I can see her branching out into other acts from there - I'm thinking folk rock, I'm thinking funk - I can definitely see Christina recommending CCR and Chili getting really into it.
I have a theory: You would greatly enjoy watching this show called ONE PIECE
I should delete this ask
