So about the daemati thing. It happens in Chapter 44, page 365 "She has picked up the amulet (...) when a thread tugged at her- no, not a thread, but a wind, as if some force barrelled from Rowan into her, as if their bond were a living thing (...) she could feel what it was to be him-" And I thought about the mating bond as well, but wouldn't it be mutual tho? And following the narrative there isn't anything from Rowan's side. Idk tho
Oooh @crazybossbitch1 I just revisited this scene and I was ready to say it was just their mating bond but this is different and it was totally triggered by the wyrdkey. So my thoughts now are that it’s totally possible that it’s similar to daemati-ish powers. In the sense that she somehow slipped into him, or had him slip into her. By without more context it could just be a way to magnify their mating bond. But cuz the key is from a weird “in between” universe kinda place, I mean….it could be anything. And it could be where Maeve is getting her daemati ish powers. And without more context, it could be connected to the ACOTAR universe because Maas has be hella suspect about NOT answering why Maeve and Rhys have he same powers. Sooo. While I don’t think Aelin is daemati, it could be that Wyrd key brought out that kind of ability. Or something like it. Or offers hat kind of ability (because it’s LITERALLY from a place where ALL worlds connect). Or it amplified the bond between her and Rowan. I think there could be multiple people sealing the keys into the gate, and I could see Rowan somehow helping Aelin, in a similar way to how Manon could like “ground” Dorian in his magic so he could help Aelin, and how Lorcan can probably maybe ground or help Elide tap into her magic if she’s an heir somehow (or maybe the other way around). I mean it could go a lot of ways. I’d need to reread the books to have a better idea of what I think…but I kinda feel like that’s a last book plot thing.
I’d hedge my bets with it’s a key from a dimension hat holds all dimensions so it could maybe allow someone to feel connected to the world/those around them in the same way that the Wyrd gate is literally connected to all worlds at once—if hat makes sense? But it could be anything. This was a good catch tho. It’s been a while since I’ve reread the series for anything other than Manorian. Lol. Now I need to go back and revisit!
