I've had writer's block for the past month so I turned to illustrating one of the images I'd held in my mind while I was writing What Year Was Our House Built?, my codywan haunted house fic. I'm pretty pleased, considering I also haven't drawn anything for a very long time either :)

As I'm in the cider-press-barrel stage of finishing the phd here is the last line from the horror au that I haven't touched in weeks:

A hundred other names jump to his lips but he clamps them shut, abruptly aware of how much noise he’s making already.

Hmmm for the word game, "clean" or "electric"!

Clean is deceptively spoilery for such an innocuous word!! 13 results and these two I think are safest to post:

He brushes a finger along the edge of its frame, beneath the bright green glass of an apple, and—makes a face, because now his finger’s covered in dust. He’ll clean it tomorrow; Sunday’s the day for cleaning. --- There’s cobwebs everywhere, because as lax as he is with cleaning the rest of the house sometimes, he’s even less likely to extend his efforts down here.

Electric has only one result! Congrats!

He ignores whatever expression is on Cody’s face in order to fill the electric kettle, pull a frying pan onto the stovetop.

Hello dear!!! “Sharp” or “stroke” for the WIP word guess? <3<3<3

Hi elwen!! sharp brings up 7 results, one of which is:

Cody is systematic in his hunt, clearing through kitchen drawers with just as sharp a focus on every fork, tape measure, and roll of plastic wrap as on the empty spaces underneath them all.

And stroke is only 3! One is actually in lore's answer, serendipitously, but the other two are:

Obi-Wan forces a breath out. “It’s nothing,” he says again, even though it’s not, but each stroke of Cody’s hand helps it trend towards the truth.

“It is,” Obi-Wan agrees, and strokes a finger along the casing before plucking it out.
