thinking about every time scully ever told mulder she wanted a life outside of work. imagining the days when all she wanted was normalcy, to love mulder in a quiet, mundane way—to wake up to a shared breakfast, to go on afternoon walks, to read lounging on the couch together, ending the day with a movie and play-fighting over the last bite of desert and the quiet ‘goodnights’ to one another before falling asleep in each other’s embrace. thinking about how she never really got that, even in the end.
