Power is intangibility. Meaning you can go through things, making attacks go through you, turn some parts of your body soild and some not. Also flying.
You got powers sooner than most, 13. Leading to not telling your best freind, Mark Grayson, who yet got his. Scared it would make a strain in the freindship or doubt himself.
Adopted at 8 years old. After your mom went into a mental breakdown, leaving your father to raise alone. Until he couldn't, being put in a adoption center for some time.
A very nice couple took you in though. Of course not prepared to raise a superhero daughter, but went along with it anyway.
Mark had been around for most of your life. The first person that walked up and asked if he could draw with you. Becoming a regular at the Grayson house as years went on.
College is around the time the freinship strained. Mark had finally got powers, making him busy with either school or saving lives. And you were busy with school or with work.
Sometimes hang outs would be set up. A bite to eat or a movie to watch, or anything to just hang out like old times. But the world was always in danger it seemed like. Months of no contact making your life hollow sometimes.
Often working from home. Up for hours in the night until morning, sleeping most of the day to repeat again. It was mostly beacuse you had nothing better to do. No other freinds, so hard even talking to someone without looking like a idiot.
Until William just wiggled in your life. His, at the time boyfriend, lived above you. It was a simple interaction, you went up to ask to turn the music down from a party going on, metting William. He was nice and apologized. The next day passing paths again, learning more about eachother and weaved a freindship together.
Weirdly enough this was the domino effect that make you fall back into Mark's life. Re-connecting by talking about what eachother missed the past couple of months. Some good, like dating and getting freinds. Even enjoyed fighting. But it did seem to wear on him, constant pressure and pain to endure.
So you decided to keep in touch more this time. Keeping updates on fights or personal problems. Spending the night at yours for some comfort. Yet sometimes you still couldn't help him enough it felt.
You joined the hero line of work. Lying and saying you gained powers just 3 years ago. He suggested the name Phantom, "All ghostly and stuff. Or maybe something similar to Jello."
Strangly it wasnt too bad. Mark be side it all. It seemed you made it easier for him to.
