Mary’s been married once in her life, and to a man she lost to illness shortly after vowing herself to him. Ever since that loss, she hasn’t pursued a relationship of the sort again--mainly out of an unwillingness to commit both her emotions and time to it. While she has her fun with both men and women alike on occasion, she doesn’t so easily develop romantic feelings. And when she does, she’s wary of them.

Essentially, Mary is gender fluid. She honestly could give less than a damn what gender or sex someone is, a trait that has expanded to her view of herself. Whatever gender would better suit a situation is the gender she takes up, as was her way when she posed as a boy most of her life.

Mary’s brig, the Night Saber, was something she began captaining after working several years under the leadership of the pirate who turned her to his cause. The Night Saber was a Spanish vessel (renamed, mind you) she helped to commandeer, and having earned the trust and respect of the pirate captain (who believed her to be a man at the time), he offered her the ship under the deal that she’d sail in his fleet. Such a partnership only lasted a year before the captain’s untimely death, and that convinced Mary to go off on her own, taking up the alias of James Kidd and starting her life anew.

What do they think about before falling asleep at night?

Schmidt's surprisingly a fairly sound sleeper, hes good at not thinking about things that could upset him so he tends to think of things hes looking forward too. Future plots, current plots, hes very single minded and focuses almost entirely on his goals, with optimism, so they have a great deal of his thoughts at all times.

✄:is my muse creative?

Yes but not in the way many people think when they think of 'creative'. He likes arts but he's not very artistically inclined- or at least he doesn't think he is. He has an inventive genius and he is very good at thinking out side of the box; he's generally good at thinking up new solutions to problems and hes very resourceful- Unfortunately though, Johann always uses his 'creativity' for bad reasons. 

♉:is my muse prone to jealousy?

Actually not reeeeally. I mean he can get jealous but hes actually a very flighty, airy kind of person. Its so easy for him to not emotionally invest himself in other people- its not a choice he really makes either- he just generally has great difficulty attaching himself to other people, even if he looks like he has. One of his biggest problems is- when it comes to other people- he rarely fights for them- if he feels like hes lost them or he feels like they have done something against him, hes extremely likely to just drop them entirely and he can do so very easily, without any further care towards the matter. He copes with a lot of feelings like jealousy and hurt mainly by letting go entirely.

Can anyone Imagine Johann in casual attire but like- he still dresses like a dorky professor. Like we all know ‘professors’ seem to have a REALLY UNQUIE style of their own which is everything you think when you think ‘professor’ and since he was one its not even a look he has to try for it just comes to him naturally…. Dorky Professor style is just who he is outside of the black/leather military combo HE KNOWS NOTHING ELSE. Actually I kinda noticed it’s a look thats kinda in in mens fashion rn he might be ok.

[The new headcanon is that Schmidt can sing REALLY WELL..... He just never really does.... Much like Hugo himself.  He probably doesn't even know hes a good singer on a count of he rarely does and has never in front of anyone.]
