ZGMF-X10A フリーダム

ディアクティブモードに勘違いされるような色味ですが自分の中ではこれがオリジナルカラーです。

今回はフリーダムのデカールがなかったのでストライクフリーダムのデカールを使用。

「X20A」とか「VPS」のデカールは使えなかったけどそれなりに良い出来かと思っています。

Android Journey - Sony Ericsson Xperia X10a

I have been trying out the Sony Ericsson Xperia x10a, my first Android OS phone and I have to say I'm impressed. Lot's of reviews say otherwise but I was pretty happy with Android and how it ran on the x10. 

I do agree that it can be slow at times but once I flashed it with a generic firmware from Sony Ericsson (instead of Telecom NZs custom flavour), the performance was great. I liked the idea of Timescape which keeps you up to date with email, messages, facebook, twitter etc. It was very easy to use and looked good while not slowing the phone down too much. The 8.1MP camera was quite good as well, not as crisp as the iPhone 4s 5MP camera but it did have a lot of cool presets for different scenes, smile detection and image stabilization which are lacking from many non-android devices.

Android 2.1 was finally released by Sony but 2.3 is on most newer devices, I was a little disappointed that we still havn't got 2.3 but at least it's a step in the right direction. I really would have liked a newer version of android to make use of the 8GB SD card bundled with it by putting some apps on. Gripes aside 2.1 is great on the handset and works a bit faster than 1.6. I was also able to download the new Google Applications which I am growing to love. One of the major differences between the Apple iPhone and Symbian phones was the amount of usable applications. Android still has a while to go before being as polished as the AppStore but the way the apps work in android almost makes up for the Market. 

Apps on Android just do more, widgets, alerts, better interaction between other apps. They just work better, if there is something that you don't like about android then chances are you can probably change it. I explored this idea when using the x10s virtual keyboard. It wasn't as easy to use as the iPhones but I had heard great reviews about HTCs keyboard. A quick google search and 30 seconds later I was using the HTC Sense keyboard on my Sony Ericsson.

Overall I liked the Xperia and am definitely looking forward to the ARC which will should improve on the already strong x10. I am also interested in what Sony is doig with Playstation and Android: The Xperia Play!
