ENGAGE 2011: Xavier University Festival Days
Day 1: Nov. 29
Welcome to Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan!
Everyone’s excited to witness the opening ceremony of one of the most awaited event of the year, Xavier University Festival Days. The opening mass started at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon followed by the lighting of belen at XU chapel and the trees of the different colleges. The Biophilic Society was assigned to decorate the tree for the College of Arts and Sciences. Of course, I was involved in making those decorations. Before this day, I went home (dorm) at around 10:30 pm. After the symbolic lighting, the biophilic society gathered to discuss and thank all the volunteers who helped the assigned task. As a reward, the extra budget was allocated for refreshments (and by refreshments, I meant FOOD… at McDonalds!) :P
Day 2: Nov. 30
The sky was full of lanterns. It was such a nice feeling to see your sky lantern in the night sky of Xavier University soccer field.
We wandered around the campus- ate lots of foods, took plenty of pictures, bought stuffs, and other crazy things. HAHA.
Day 3: Dec. 1
Nothing exciting happened. It powerfully rained all day. It wasn’t the way I wanted and expected it to be. Thanks a lot rain, you ruined that night.
Day 4: Dec. 2
Honestly, it’s the BEST DAY!!! In the morning, Maristella and I watched XUTime, the XU version of the famous Showtime from ABS-CBN. It was really fun! The combination of Lola (pronounced as LOW-LA) and Hazang was a complete blast! Everyone’s laughing all the time. In the afternoon, I was with Myla, Franky, Siegred, Stefani, Aldo, Alyssa, Maris and Kelvin.
L-R: (Alyssa, Aldo, Franky, Maris, Me, Stefani, Kelvin and Siegred)
We were just having fun ― eating finger foods (popcorn, nachos, etc.), watching movie at the soccer field, and merely lying down at the great green grass while staring at the beautiful arrangement of stars in the gloomy sky like the kids longing to be floating and playing in the clouds. *nosebleed* HAHAHA!
The kids (by kids, I mean us. HAHA) played at the Photo Booth.
This day was extremely perfect. Everything worked out the way I was expecting it to be. Thanks to these great friends, I was happy :”>
Day 5: Dec. 3
The worst day. I WASN’T THERE!!! I went back home (Iligan) early in the morning. XU Days ended with astounding fireworks and a glamorous party at the soccer field. [FACT: an estimated 10,000-15,000 number of people attended the closing program, which is unexpected because perhaps it's more than the XU College Population]
Sige lang, may next year pa naman eh.

An attempt to make myself fall asleep
Now that Xavier Days are over, I'm now free from the jitters of planning and organizing our organization's booth. It's no big thing to deal with but saying thank you is definitely a big deal to those who helped me from top to bottom, from the most obvious to the most subtle. So, THANK YOU. Thank you most especially to my boyfriend who, if not around, wouldn't have made even a single thing possible. I can't wait until my next project. I'll write about it!
Anyway, I'm gonna be honest about my real reason for writing this. I've planned to start my own blog since my 20th birthday. I've thought about a starting title for weeks but now it just comes to me that my first entry has to be something extracted from my thoughts as if my brain just got re-fixed. Now I'm only 5 months away from my 21st and I haven't begun my ideal blog yet. This account on Tumblr is just an outlet of my being a frustrated architect. I will reveal its significance to me on my later entries. :)
Time check: It's already 04:21AM (like Gwen Stefani's '4 In The Morning') and I'm still not asleep.
I want to talk about everything. There's figuratively a huge bank of my thoughts that I ought to let everyone know, even if they don't care. These thoughts vary from politics to fashion, from movies to just random acts of kindness, my life's revelation and my criticism of someone's, just about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.
But right now, I just want to declare this entry as my first article for my first ''real'' blog. That blog though will be published as soon as I finish its site details.
I'm not gonna deny I want attention. I know there are hundreds of blogs out there already. I've read a few articles from some, but I've never subscribed to one. By the time I'll have this posted, I know no one will care and will shrug off my words written by my fingers from the ideas of my brain and blabbing mouth. I know I'm just nobody and my insignificance is highly ignored. But one of these days, I promise I will open my mouth or stretch out my fingers to type with my words and through it, I hope I will get to open your minds and stretch your everyday reading.
Besides, the world without internet is just so limiting. There are people around me who I can't reach out to but I'm hoping this blog will slash out all our differences. I want everyone to know me in a deeper sense, and I want to know more people to fully appreciate the beauty of diversity.
My mission is for you to thank me from what you've learned and read, and for me to thank you for reading. :)
I've said too much. I will now force myself to sleep. And based on this entry's title, the attempt failed. Thank you for reading, and I wish you well on your own attempt to something now - be it to make a cup of coffee, or make a person smile. Now the sound of the air conditioner will be my lullaby. Good night!
