Days when Chrom had the noon off seemed rare. Just because he hadn’t taken his sister’s title out of respect didn’t mean he had sooned learned that certain nobles couldn’t last a day without bringing up problems in court. By some miracle, the royal had managed to deal with them all in the morning, leaving his schedule for the rest of the day free... Of course that now meant he had no excuse not to try an idea he’d be toying with. Just because he was a grown man didn’t mean he couldn’t be shy about this sort of thing sometimes.

At least the weather was good for it. Stepping out into the courtyard to enjoy the sun for a little while, Chrom spotted the woman who had been playing on his mind. Well, here goes nothing.

“Good morning, Aversa. A little place near here that does cakes recently opened up and they asked that I might visit them sometime. Would you care to join me?”

He'd heard a twig snap a little way away, and he could swear he'd seen a flash of pale hair, but the owner of said hair wasn't making themself easy to spot. "Come out or I'll shoot," he warned, drawing back the bowstring in preparation. "And believe me, I'll take pleasure in seeing an enemy of my liege in pain..."

The Deeprealms have taken him somewhere, but he just didn’t know where that was. Takumi tightened his hold on his Fujin Yumi as he walked through the forest, not recognizing any of it. This wasn’t Hoshido or Nohr.

He froze as he heard something in the woods, quickly pointing his bow at it. He watched as something stumbled out, and he almost thought it was human until it looked at him. It was dead. Red eyes, rotting skin sometimes held together with stitches...

It made him sick to look at it.

He shot it, easily sending it back to whatever hell it crawled out of. He would have to keep moving, to make sure he didn’t get surrounded. Once he turned to keep walking down the path though, he saw the group of those things standing in the way, and when he turned around he quickly saw that he was surrounded.

Just his luck.

A rather problematic spot they found themselves in. A besieging of one of the castles in Hoshidan territory, an invasion with the small that was Corrin’s army. Yet as they moved in and the enemies came to drive the army out the group splitted into smaller ones,

“Are you faring well Aversa? We are dealing with Hoshidans using arrows. Tch...” Her scowl apparent as they were seemingly to be the only allies nearby. Either way they would have to regroup with others or hide somewhere save.

“Perhaps we should hide. If the enemies were to find us here we might overwhelmed.” A look around one of the walls revealing some of the Hoshidan’s grouped up nearby.

Ylisseans didn’t have a concrete view on what happened past death, but Chrom was sure it had something to do with deceased loved ones and Naga rather than this. For a blissful moment he’d thought he’d somehow survived bleeding out thanks to a brutal spell (and vowed he’d work on his resistance once he was next training with a mage) but that dream was ripped to insignificant shreds when he found himself incapable of even touching the one who taunted him about his current situation.

Having a permanent knot in his stomach whenever left to his own thoughts, it was questionable whether the lord preferred his own company now. Perhaps a hopefully not too devout cleric or the like he could deal with, but no. Out of all those he could run into, it had to be Aversa.

Whilst hardly dramatic enough to call hatred, Chrom made little to no effort to hide the disdain creeping its way onto his features. “Of course I’d end up around you eventually. Here to gloat?”
