♘: Cuddling in a blanket fort FOR BLAKE AND KID
“See? It’s nice.” Kid reassured while fluffing a pillow for himself now that he’d successfully gotten Blake inside the fort and reclined in a semi-laying down position. There were a series of pillows behind the older man which propped him up so he wasn’t entirely flat. Vulnerable.
Joe, on the other hand, didn’t have any trouble with laying any which way and in blanket forts you were guaranteed to be comfortable at any angle. Kid smiled, stared, and admired the white string lights he’d wrapped around. They glowed through the cheap sheet he’d tossed over as a privacy veil. Blake still sat stiff and frowned in his ‘always confused’ manner.
“There’s something wrong with your face.” Blake said and Kid could have gasped.
“Was that a joke?” He scooched closer to the hellhounds side, chuckling, “That sounded a lot like a joke.”
Blake looked Kid up and down, but not the way Kid wished he would, even dreamed he just might one day. The wolf was patient and captured. “No. There really is something wrong with your face.”
Joe breathed out a laugh and ran a hand through his dark hair before getting settled at Blake’s side. “Well that’s alright. I’ve got a case of the too-happies while you have the frumpty-dumpkins.”
“Those aren’t actual medical terms.”
Another snort. “Aren’t you smart?” Joe didn’t take no for an answer. His arm wrung over Blake’s torso and he settled his head just beneath the man’s chest. Pressed a warm cheek against the dark navy shirt. He was comfortable here and he liked Blake’s clean smell.
Joe had almost drifted off to sleep by the time Blake made his first move. At first, Kid feared the man was simply uncomfortable--had been pinned down, but then the grump was shifting further down to lay across the blankets, pillows, and an arm looped around Kid’s waist. Still stiff in its way, but the pair splayed out equally now, and Joe had to keep himself from staring in Blake’s eyes too long. He just smiled and closed his eyes like this. Then they shared a pillow and drifted off to sleep.
