Boron is a fuss-free, simple and clean theme. Borders and lines keep things in order, while four accent bursts of colours bring in sparks of life. With a single click, the sidebar transforms into an about page for you to showcase everything visitors need to know about you.
Features: Slide-out user info page (user icon + name + social media + pronouns + bio + links), search bar / scrolling update box, built-in custom links (limitless), personlise navicons, post types display
hello!! thank you so much for your hard work, your themes look amazing and I can't thank you enough for making them free for us. I use your "boron" theme and I was wondering if I can change the icons for the social medias as well as their URL's, so it can be used for other sites. I apologize if that has been answered before and if it can't be done, it's completely fine. I don't know how to code at all, so it may look like a simple thing, but I haven't been able to do it... Thanks anyway, x >.<
Hello, don't worry this hasn't been answered before, and it's completely doable. I'll walk you through it under the cut below.
Step 1: Edit HTML
Go to your theme customiser page, which should just be here if you're editing your primary blog. Click on [edit HTML].
Step 2: Find the relevant code section
Scroll down or skip to line 1539 of your theme code, which shows;
Step 3: Decide on kind of icon to add
Between lines 1545 and 1546, we will add the new icons and links there. There are two ways to add the icon links. Firstly, you can use the already existing icons from Cappuciccons by suiomi. A wide variety of icons is available for you to choose from. Secondly, you can use your own external image URLs as the icon. You may have to do this if Cappuccions does not offer an icon that you want to use. The two methods require slightly different codes (I will provide the code templates below).
This image shows how the code should be inserted and used:
And this image below shows how the icons look like (note that the first example code for each method is just for demo purposes, hence only 4 icons are showing up instead of 6). The first 2 icons are Cappucicons icons, and the last two are external icons.
Step 4: Add the icon code
Here are the template codes. You will need to replace the CAPITALISED TEXT in the template codes appropriately. You may have to re-type the quotation marks in the codes if you are copy-pasting them.
hello xue! first things first; thank you so much for your work, I really love your designs, they are amazing! I just applied the Boron theme to my page but for some reason the favicon I uploaded does not show up :( I have tried different sizes & formats but the tab keeps showing my avatar instead. do I have to delete my avatar in order for the favicon to show? I'd really appreciate if you could help me out! - Best regards & have a nice day!!💕
Hello!! First off, thank you so much for using my theme and your compliments ♡ To use a custom favicon (i.e, the little icon that appears in your browser tab), please:
Customise your blog theme. No need to edit the raw HTML, these are options available from the customise panel.
Try turning off and on the [Custom Favicon] toggle option in your theme options seen above.
Upload a [Favicon] image.
Hope this works! This applies to my other themes too that support custom favicon images. :)
Added a “Truncate Tags” option (thanks @ombreblossom for the suggestion!)
To update your theme, please re-visit the link sent to you when you first purchased the theme from my ko-fi. The same link should have been sent to the email you registered with too.
