The Morning After

The morning after Angela and Charlotte died and Patrick told him what had happened, Danny and Angela had made plans to spend the day with Charlotte, while Patrick and Angela got some alone time. She was supposed to drop off Charlotte at 12, he sat at the window at 12 for a whole hour, every second telling himself "they're just late, they'll be here." When he finally accepted that Angela and Charlotte weren't coming he did all the things he had promised Charlotte he would do with her that day. Go out and get ice cream, play the piano and have mac and cheese for dinner. He could almost here Charlotte excitedly tell him what flavour of ice cream she wanted.
