XPERIENCE ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY, or XECOMPANY for short, is a joint South Korean and Canadian based multinational entertainment company that was created sometime between mid 2015 and early 2016. The label was created and currently owned by Canadian CEO CALVERT ‘CAL’ ROWE and Korean CEO CHO BAEK-HYEON; two childhood best friends. The two created the company as a way for idols to experience idol life but without as many restrictions and constant eyes watching over everything they did; though there are some guidelines set but they’re usually not that extreme.
.
The company originally was created to be a music production and creation company but as of 2018 it’s branched out its operations as a music production company to also become a record label, model management agency, advertisement agency, and talent/acting agency.
.
RULES / GUIDELINES:
[TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES]: The company likes to let the idols do whatever they want within the small boundaries they have with the company. However, they also, if the idol does something that might cause bad press, will not do anything to save/help them unless it’s the very last option. The idols MUST take responsibility for their actions regardless of what they’ve done.
[DATING BAN]: Though not typically pushed onto groups there is at least a year long ban on idols dating anyone. After the year is over they are free to date whomever they want. It’s due to letting the idols have at least a year of training and working on themselves and their wellbeing and sets of skills.
[DIETING/BEAUTY STANDARDS]: Diets are NOT enforced nor recommended. The idols may do a diet if they truly want to; if not then that’s okay. The health of the idols are extremely important to the company and as long as they’re taking care of themselves and not harming their bodies and well beings/mentality then they don’t have to compulsively worry about it or act impulsively. As for having idols with a ‘specific look’ or beauty standard there really isn’t one. The company is about having anyone who wants to apply themselves to pursuing their passion of music/dance/acting/modeling. If they chose to change how they look, they have to notify the company just so they are aware of what is happening. The company will not try and talk them out of it, as long as they’re 100% sure they want to change something permanently they can do so. XE COMPANY does remind them of consequences or possible outcomes that may come from the change so that they’re aware of everything that can happen. Cosmetic surgery of any kind is NOT enforced nor required/requested. Natural features (freckles, scars, acne, etc) will be covered up ONLY at the idols request.
[COURSEWORK AND CLASSES]: The company has paired up with a couple different schools, both in Korea and Internationally. So if the idols chose to continue their education under the classes of the schooling paired with the company they can switch. It is NOT required to switch over to the company schools. Those who do choose to switch and continue classes this way, they’re given a times table schedule that will plan out their days and hours for school. Depending on which school they transfer to will give them the option to either do online, in person, or self-teach themselves with an detailed outline and given material outlining what they would have learned and in what order if they were to chose the other two aforementioned options. Scheduling is adjustable and customized to their liking that would help with building their skills and training. Uniforms are worn by idols and trainees who are doing schooling around the company so other idols and staff do not interrupt them from their schooling/lessons. When not doing their schooling and coursework they’re free to wear whatever they’d like. Coloring of ties and skirts are based on which school they’re attending. Also depending on which school is chosen or if they’ve chosen to be self-taught or taught by other idols at the company can decide which languages they learn. Some languages given consists of Korean, Chinese, English, Japanese, French, Spanish (+more).
[DORMITORIES AND LIVING ARRANGEMENTS]: Dorms are usually close to the company. Groups tend to live with one another if they can. Those who chose to still live with family they can. The members have the option to choose who they room with and which of the dorms they would like. After a certain amount of years they are able to move to a different dorm that is bigger but further away from the company if they would like to. They’re also able to move out of the dorm to live by themselves or split the amount of members in one dorm and the rest in another.
[CONTRACTS AND SAFETY]: Mistreatment of idols from employee/staff is NOT something taken lightly. Idols are encouraged to come into Human Resources or either of the CEOs offices to voice their feelings and thoughts on anything happening to them or to other idols at the company. Employees and staff are also encouraged to do the same if they have anything they want to speak on about an idol or other employee/staff. Each idol does sign a contract with the company ensuring that they’ll put all their efforts into following the guidelines or appropriately pushing themselves with their studies and trainings. The contract lifespan depends on the idol signed; some will last for a year others can last up to 5-8. If they are to go against any of the guidelines set, the contract states that consequences will not be aggressive or unfair; the idol and the companies will discuss the outcome/choice that takes place through a couple meetings to ensure the appropriate reaction is done. If any investigations are to be done each person of the investigations and those who they’ll be around will be notified. Each idol and employee/staff member are given mental, physical, emotional health evaluations either weekly or monthly depending on the last evaluation results to ensure they’re not overworking themselves to the point that they’re draining their energy and motivation. Idols are able to have phones and social media but depending on how long their debut has been to the most present time/date decides how monitored they’ll be.
